My coupe is here! UPDATE w/PICS!!! 9/4

My coupe (2005 6MT athens blue with premium and aero package) arrived at the dealer yesterday after 3 long months. I wanted them to leave all the wrapping on, but they have to PDI it or something and take all of it off and inspect the car. I told them not to wash or detail it, but apparently there are glue marks from the covering. Should I let the dealer detail it? Will the glue marks be hard to take off myself. I just don't want to take any chances with swirl marks. Thanks guys, I'll be posting pics this weekend.

The glue marks are easy to remove. Go get your baby.... Just use a paint cleaner wax like Macguires and it'll come right off.

Have the dealer detail your new G...they'll take good care of it. DON'T let the dealer wash it when you take it for service in the future tho. They tend not to take good care for a regular wash.

I figure a wash was included in their detailing process for delivery.

Congrats on your new ride finally arriving... Take it home already... I agree... I would have them full detail the care... just don't ever let them watch it after servicing...

Congrats on finally getting the G!! Your gonna love it. I had them keep the plastic on mine so I could see it before I let them take it off as well.

Ok, I picked up my G today. Let me say, WOW, it's such a sweet ride. I'm still gettin the hang of the manual. I keep missing 4th and gettin into 2nd. I did it like 3 times. i hear a nasty screeching sound...oops. I now understand what people are talking about when they say the shifter is notchy. getting into 3rd i feel the notches. the seat is also a little uncomfortable, like i can't sit back in it. the seat belt isn't so bad but i can see how people are irritated by it. I'm 5'8" so i fit snugly between the bolsters. Man once i get a hold of a camera i'll post some pics of my beautiful athens blue coupe.

Congrats, and post some pics upon delivery... any plans for mods? I had them detail it before delivery, but refuse any washes since then..

congrats!

btw, swirl marks are inevitable, youll end up getting them no matter what, or unless you enver wipe your car with any towel

I didn't let the dealer detail. I don't have a digicam and can't get my hands on one. so very disappointed. i'm currently using a microfiber towel, no swirl marks yet. hopefully it will stay that way until i get my clear bra on the front end. no mods yet, definitely tint and clear bra, maybe high flow cats. tryin to save up for FI.
