Whats Up people new to the G35 some Q's For you

Whats up guys my name is Chris and I'm new to this forum. I was a member on a Honda webboard for 5 years and just switched over to Nissan in September. I've been checking out some threads but still don't know too much about the aftermarket scene for Nissan. Just wondering what a good setup for my G35 would be. Its a 2005 6MT. I want a little more pep but not too much difference in sound. I am looking into a Nismo catback exhaust so far. As for intakes I dont know if I really want one because I dont want anything too loud. I had a 2000 Accord, 2002 RSX-S and a 2005 RSX-S and had an AEM CAI on all. But with VTEC they were extremely loud. I dont know anybody with a G35 or 350z around with any upgrades. I noticed alot of you have Z tubes. And alot of talk about spacers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Chris,

Congrats on your new G and a warm welcome to the boards. If you are seeking the best "Bang For The Buck," I would highly suggest Motordyne's MREV mod. It was created specifically with the '05 6MT in mind. It adds gobs of hp and torque. This is an excellent first mod. Perform a search for the MREV and you will be reading for quite a bit. Good luck and have fun!

Thanks everybody for the welcome and for your input. So my gf bought me the Motordyne MREV Plus for Christmas, got it at end of January (backorder) and it is a very noticable hp upgrade with no difference in sound. But I bought a JWT popcharger w/the Z tube combo and holy crap at WOT it is pretty damn loud. But oh well so much for the quiet car. I also ordered the Nismo exhaust last night so I will post pics as soon as I can. Thanks again for the info.

after you added the jwt, did you feel like the mrev/jwt combo made noticibly more hp than just the mrev alone?

yeah actually I did feel a little more pull. My gf even commented on it. I was just surprised by the sound the most. At idle and just cruisin around it is quiet besides the slight whistle/suck sound. Then I got into it a little and....damn!!!! But I love the performance so I can deal with the sound. Thats why I went ahead and got the exhaust. Hopefully I can get it on this weekend if it gets here in time. I'll def post pics. Oh and is $880 plus $50 for extension a good price? I'm used to the $450 Honda/Acura catbacks. Oh well its too late now anyway.
