Front license plate? umm.... no - CT

Any experience running w/o a front lic plate in CT?

Just picked up my 04 G35 Sport Coupe. The previous owner never ran one. I am having a hard time drilling my new baby.

I really don't want to make getting pulled over a habit. How strictly is this enforced in the Hartford area? Do cops have better things to worry about (doughnuts, ******, global warming, etc?)

Not sure how strict CT is with this. There are a few places that sell license plate adapters that screw into your front tow hook so you don't have to drill. My dealer screwed right into my bumper so I am screwed. But here is an example of one of the adapters:

I think there may be cheaper ones out there also.

I'm in CT and have been driving my G without a front plate since Oct. 03'. Have been pulled couple of times for various reason but didn't get questioned about the plate. At any rate, I keep the plate, the frame, and the screws with me in the cabin so I can come up with some BS story if needed. I also usually drop the plate on the front windshield if my detector goes off as well as on the two times I got pulled over.

I say don't bother mounting it. Get a frame and screws and keep it all next to you. If you get pulled over, throw the plate on the window, show the officer the frame, and tell him you are waiting on a new mount (previous one was broken or some crap of that nature).

Good luck.

if you look on e-bay they have a jdm license plate bracket for a scion tc that you can drill onto the inside if your bumper so you won't see any holes.

I have been running without a plate for 5 years in CT and have yet to have any issues. When I bought my G 3 years ago I told them I wouldn't take delivery if they put the front plate on my car.

EDIT: I live in fairfield county and don't have issues but my buddy lives in West Hartford and he says the cops up there are a-holes and ticket people for it. I would say run without the plate and put it on if they say anything. No big deal.
