Dealership Question and JiffyLube Video
I took my Infiniti to King's Infiniti yesterday to get some minor work done on it; oil change, change key fob battery, switch my alarm out of valet mode, and change out the bulbs in my clear corners (since they are different colors; one amber, one white). I grabbed a loaner and left. The service dept. guy called me and told me that my front brake pads had less than 25% left on it and it needed to be changed and it would cost me $260 for the job (shaving the rotors and replacing the pads). I was busy doing other stuff so without thinking it through I told them to go ahead and do it (nothing else on my list cost me any money including the oil change so the brakes would've been the only "cost")
Anyway, my foot was already in my mouth, so I went and picked up the car. I took their word everything was done, but as night came, I saw that the clear corners were still different colors. Now I don't care about that since it's an easy 2 minute fix, but it just makes me wonder if they actually did any work on the brakes at all since they feel the same and they didn't do any work on the sidemarkers like I'd asked. The alarm and keyfob battery were done. But I am doubting the brakes since I feel no noticeable difference. Any recommendations on this? I feel sort of like this video:

Easy fix to that would be to take the wheels off and see if the pads look like new.
I was planning on going to King's for my next oil change, would you recommend them? Any negative stories, or are they pretty good and decent?

If they "shaved" the rotors, look for an even surface that looks like a "record" (if your old enough to remember what they look like
) and look for new pads. You don't need to take the wheels off to see them.

Not a news to me. I'm in the trucking business. I got 37 truck on the road all the time. Something breaks down all the time. I have never paid a repair bill in full yet. I always bring it down at least $200 or more. And out of my experience no matter what shop you go to they always rip you off. I just had a repair done last week when guy charged me $900 for $400 fuel injector. After a phone conversation with him, he told me that his computer made $500 mistake. WTF? Lucky me I never took my car for repair yet, any of my cars. I do everything my self.
