Burger King was the spot after school. Remeber Crystals for sneakers and Tims and J&W's wear the jeans and shirts where like 2 for 20.00. I would leave 2 or 3 weeks worth of allowance money in that store...lol.

you guys gotta list what years you were around. I remember bein a kid in the 80s and hearing Narcissus ads on the radio. By the 90s, I remember Kenmore had Nemos for late nite food etc.. as well as IHOP hehe

Jillians was around in the early 90s, awesome old 80s Pac Man and etc. I never went to it when it was roller skating. Venus was big, as was Axis. Then Mama Kin.

Back in the 90s, the A-Rabs were big with Ferraris/Lotus/Vipers etc hitting Avalon Thursday with Manolo, M80/Paradise on Wed-Fri-Sat. I forget about Roxy, Club Nicole, Zanzibar at the Alley, mercury Bar as well, West St Grill, and the Loft til 4am.

Metro was big in the 80s, all the UK and pop legends played there as well as " The Channel" ( in Southie I think). U2 played there in like 1980

BUT IF YOUR A DICK, chances are YOURE going to get STOMPED! back BEFORE JILLIANS it was just a roller rink called SPINNICA ( pardon the spelling) and everyone just hung out at KENMORE BOWL and ate at CAPTAIN NEMOS!..... dam i am old.. wtf!

I was an 80's baby all the way. I thnk the best place for food was Charlies Place in the South End on Colombus Ave. Best breakfast in town. Here's a classic for you...remember the Orange Line when it was elevated and the the fruit/vegetable stands were underneathe?

And remember these were the only stops on the Orange Line when it was elevated:
Everett
Thompson Square
City Square
North Station
Union Friend
State Milk
Winter Summer
Essex Boylston
Dover
Northampton
Dudley
Green
Egleston
Forest Hills

I just remember the red line in the theme song/ intro to Spenser For Hire. I really wish it were back on cable or on dvd. That show was vintage 80s Boston footage.

So what happened to the elevated tracks of the orange line? I only know the orange from state st to back bay, did it go above ground near that? (not including back bay where it is next to the pike for a few feet)

remember BUZZY's roast beef, by the NASHUA st JAIL?
high voltage, in downtown?
who went to FACES? that was the under age club back then..
any one lived on the green line.. if so remember train hopping? that was fun.
there use to be like only 3 clubs in kenmore back then. and remember playing video games at nemos, they use to sell chinese chicken wings too.
mustang 5.0 were hottt back then, especially LX w/saleen wing , so were IROCz with louvers..and monte carlos roam the streets with grand nationals,,
before imports were even considered,
these were the years of the TRIPLE FAT GOOSE and you rolled and cuffed your jeans and had spikey hair with bleached out bangs and a tail ..

remember TEDDYBEARS?
I'm actually only 24, but I was going to KB since I was 15, so late 90's. I worked there when I was 18. Fri and Sat night the place used to be PACKED with Asians. Like, you couldn't move. And every weekend someone got knocked the f out. I met a lot of unsavory characters back then that I still talk to today. Boston is a small city when it comes to the Asian community.

The Orange Line used to run elvated from Forest Hills until Dover (which was by East Berkley St). The train was elvated all the way down Washington St. Around 1989 they started tearing down the elevated tracks and move the subway undergorund from Forest Hills all the way to Community College. The Orange Line now runs under the South West Corridor Parkway which is pretty much between Colombus and Huntington Ave.
