my whole town is connected wireless

brookline is now connected WIFI. you can access wireless internet anywhere in town.
but i already have wireless access anyways.

That's cool!

I wonder if this is the first city in Massachusetts to offer a service like this. Must be nice!!!

How fast is it? I can't imagine it's very good.

i wont be home till end of the week . i will let you know then. suppositly law enforcement and fire/rescue will be useing it too.
i think they will be a charge for it soon. i dont see this lasting long for free.

Yeah one of my co-workers just moved in there like a month ago and was talking about it. He didn't say much on speed/reliability though.

u can surf the net when you stuck in brooklines gridlock traffic
lol.. traffic sucks in brookline, especially with all the street construction
.. as if it wasnt bad enough before..

By the looks of it it'll be provided as a utility. Like Garbage pickup, gas or water services. So in essentially the town (and therfore GOVERNMENT) becomes your ISP. Say good-by xxx nasty **** downloads , free harry potter movie downloads, & file sharing of all sorts.

i can connect to it, and i'm in brighton... it's gonna be free for a little while, then they're gonna charge $20 a month for it
