Re: how many washed their cars this weekend

actually saw claybar kit in rs strauss.

went to strauss, wal-mart, target, plus two diff food stores looking for brake dust wipes. couldn't find. only found spray and hose off kind.

i keep mine clean enough where wipes do the job.

when i told my son i was going to wash the infiniti, he said it wasn't dirty. i told him if he squints his eyes and looks at a certain angle, he could see a slight film of dust. he thought i was nuts.

but, i taught him how to apply tire dressing.

Re: how many washed their cars this weekend

I had to. This little ***** at work who:

A) knows how much I love and am overprotective of my car
B) is suppose to be a car guy with his little souped up Jetta

thought it would be funny to put 3 huge hand prints in the dust on my car. I looked ridiculous driving around like that for a day and a half. I was going to wash it anyway but the little f@#%er forced me to. What an @$$shole!

I took out the hose and was about ready to give it a wash... then I checked the weather. Going to rain all week here in NJ folks, save for today.

Re: how many washed their cars this weekend

I have washed my car every weekend since I got the car in Nov. I am on Long Island. My hose spigot is in my garage - so no freezing problem. Buckets of hot water when it is below freezing.

Me! Getting to that first application of Zaino was a paino. Dawn, claybar, zaino wash. By the second wash I used the leafblower method followed by a quick dry down with towels. Second coat of Z2 went on much quicker. I'm happy with the results but I think they would be more dramatic if I had a different ext color.

Re: how many washed their cars this weekend

I was wondering how many of you garage your cars......
My wifes G20 fits in our garage pretty tight...so the few times I've actually parked it in there it was impossible to get around it with out scraping along the sides.....

So I keep it outside....off the street but exposed to the elements.....it bugs me like hell but for the time being its actually safer than having garbage cans and bags dragged around it all the time...

So I am very conscientious....my wife calls it OBSESSIVE about keeping my car properly cleaned and waxed...
As a matter of fact I posted something similar in another thread in the off topic forum....

anyway, I have been quite successful in maintaining a clean and well waxed car despite the inclement winter weather.....
I'm sure we still have a little winter left...but for the time being the G's still shining!!!!!!!2old4this
