Re: how to install the z tube?

The DIY here is missing pictures. There's a good DIY on 6mt.net. I intsalled mine this weekend. I found it easier to remove the phillips screws (by the air filter) using a 10mm screwbit, as the phillips part of those screws strips really easily. Just make sure it's on there tight, and the z tube is stretched all the way.

It lacks the sound baffles that the stock G tube (?) does so you get more of a growl under 4K rpm than stock when you punch it. Some say it adds a couple of hp but I'm skeptical. To me it was worth $75 for the growl and it's an easy install.

Re: how to install the z tube?

One correction, the growl is ABOVE 4k, below 3500 sounds stock. I did notice the slightest bit of power increase, the true change came when I added the Stillen Pop charger. (JWT makes a nice one as well.

The install is very easy, two clamps, and bolt and the MAS tube. One tip I will through out is to make sure you work your MAS tube back towards the firewall when postioning the Z-tube. Otherwise it will crease and limit the airflow to the sensor. The difference is that the 350 tube has the connector under the tube while the G tube has it above, so you end up with a few extra inches.

Re: how to install the z tube?

Bigger filter and better design to condition the air into the tube. The cone and the internal ring are angled so the air has a straighter path rather than the perpendicular stock filter walls. These are the 2 major ones. Search the tech mod section for more info.
