plead not guilty and go to court tell them that, that is how you bought the car and that you removed the tints. they will give you a minimum fine like 50$ or something. worked for me lol

what is the OEM tint? because in texas the limit is 30% for the front windows and whatever you want for the back. I am wondering how much difference the 30% will make because its like $150 and I don't want to spend that if it wont make a big difference. So what is the stock tinting?

Yes. Nearly everything in Mass is a "moving" violation, which means it's surchargable. To my knowledge, only the new ADULT texting law and ADULT seatbelt law are not surchargable. Everything else is surchargable including inspection sticker tickets, equipment violations, etc..
Also, surchargable or not, "responsible" or "not responsible", the violations remain on your driving record. The disposition will be appropriately noted, and the Merrit Rating Board will not surcharge you for violations that you shouldn't be surcharged for, but once the citation is issued it becomes a permanent part of the driving record.
Also, this is one gem of a thread. Not a single poster was correct in their statements about Mass General Law and tint fines, discretion of Magistrates in lowering the fine, etc..
