Bergen County Newb Needs Advice

Hey, I've had my G for a year now and think I'm ready for some mods. I wanna more low end speed off the line. Any suggestions any one? I know nothing about mods and most of the stuff posted on this forum is like greek to me. Do you guys do all of this yourself? Or is there some where I can go to have all this done for me?

Re: Bergen County Newb Needs Advice

My advice is that if all of the stuff is greek, first learn about your car through the owners and service manuals. Then do some research about what people are talking about in these forums. Whether or not you do it yourself or pay someone, you should understand so you don't make a mistake and/or get ripped off. I've learned a lot from here and I do my own work so far (my mods aren't very labor intensive). If it's better engine performance you want, the general drill is to modify the air intake system first, then exhaust system. Also consider how much you want to spend. Hope that helps. Feel free to PM. I'm in Union County.

Re: Bergen County Newb Needs Advice

hey, I'm actually in the same boat as you...about a year & ready to mod (also in Bergen (Fair Lawn)...you?).

I was thinking of starting off with some sort of intake, as most people have done. I was gonna go with the Z-tube/pop-charger combo, but am now considering the Nismo (2nd gen.)CAI (since power increase across entire power band, not just high end/rpm, plus has bypass valve unlike other intakes, which I'm not sure how much that would matter hear) Supposedly, they're supposed to be do it yourself installs that hopefully someone like us can figure out? Luckily, I have a buddy that's into this kind of stuff.

What mods have you looked into so far?
