So last Friday I went to Tru Wheels in Weymouth to get a wheel alignment, an oil change and my rear sway bar installed. now these guys do awesome work on lowered vehicles and usually get them back into spec or damn near close to it
. So to my surprise they moved to a smaller shop located about 10 minutes away from the old location. So I head up there and speak to the owner Brian, who advised me their Hunter alignment machine had not been setup and they were doing the alignments at Expert Tire located at 690 Bridge St in North Weymouth.
So one of the workers drives my G up there and drops it off. So after about 20 min. The shop calls back to Tru Wheels to advise us that they cant get my car on the lift because it's to low
. Whats funny is Brian's lift is higher than their's and my car makes it up his ramp. So Brian has Danny drive me to the shop and I examine the ramps. I decide the car can make it up the ramp and it does without scraping or bottoming out. This leads me to believe that they didnt even attempt to line the car up with the ramp. Danny asks me do I want to go back to the other shop and wait and I say no I'll stick around to see what these guys do.
So now onto the alignment. They put the sensors on the wheel and print out my specs sheet which Bob gives to another guy who walks into the office and places it on the counter. Bob is whispering something to this other guy which I couldn't make out. So obviously something is wrong because the tech doing the alignment starts to procedd to remove the rear sway bar instead of finishing up the alignment
. Next he disappears and another tech comes out and takes the sensors off and finishes uninstalling the factory sway bar at which point I go under the car to see what the hell is going on.
At this point the other tech orignally doing the alignment comes back with two wrenches. He places them by the side of my wheel and not knowing I'm under the car pretends that he is doing adjustments
. After 45 seconds of pretending he leaves and clocks out. The mechanic switching my sway bar leaves and another one comes in and does the install.
So now my rear swyas are on and he also changes my oil which I monitored closely to make sure everything was put back correctly. So I go into the shop and I ask to see my alignment specs before and after (the machine drops specs from cars every 100 cars that are aligned) and he says they only have the "before" specs.
I pay 100.00 for the sway bar install, oil change and what was supposed to be wheel alignment. I take my car and immeadiately call Brian and explain what happened.
So after a few days of calling and complaining to Brian at Tru Wheels I go by and he calls up Expert Tire. I show him the alignment spec sheet and even he realizes that nothing was done. So Brian speaks to the mananger and sends me up there to get a refund. Upon arriving I speak with the service manager whos clearly says with that suspension equipment there was no way they could've aligned my car (I have the Tein CS with EDFC, GT Spec Lateral Braces front, rear and rear upper, NRG strut bar and front and rear Hotchkis Sway Bars, SPC Camber arms and Toe Bolt). So now Im furious and I say WTF! did you charge me an alignment for if it couldnt be done? Then he asks to see my keys. I ask him for what and he replies "so we can get this fixed and do your alignment". I tell him hell the fawk no. You guys had an opportunity and tried to get over on me. Fawk off. I got refunded for 100.00 but the moral of this experience is if you dont do it yourself see if you are able to watch and see what the techs are doing on your car.
Tru Wheels does excellent work it was just a shamed that they had to use a less reputable shady shop.

can TruWheels get alignment in spec with a Tein S-Tech G35 drop without a camber kit? I am thinking of putting my stock springs back on because my tires are so feathered and have balded because of a ****ty alignment.
Eric, you're a lot nicer than I am.
Charging for service not performed, AND putting on a "show" by "turning" some wrenches under the chassis?
You think you've seen me go mental, you haven't seen ANYTHING yet.
