Ray Catena or Willow Grove?
Ray Catena or Willow Grove?
Hey guys,
My car is on order and is supposed to arrive on June 4th at Ray Catena in NJ...I was also considering going through Willow Grove in PA...Has anybody had any experience with either dealership, if you can give me some pro's and con's on each...They are offering about the same price, maybe a couple hundred dollars difference...Thanks in advance for the replies...

Re: Ray Catena or Willow Grove?
somewhere on this board i remember posts about willow grove. weren't the greatest.
i test drove at catena, but i june 03, they wouldn't budge on a 6mtC. called douglas infiniti and over phone got 1250 off msrp when discounts on coupes (especially mt's) were unheard of.
friend of mine with his 2nd infiniti (I's) loves them.
will probably use them for service.

Well, g35tuning, as far as purchasing your ride, I didn't get the best deal from Willow Grove; I ended up getting my ride from Flemington. But, as far as service is concerned, Willow Grove is alright. So, some people usually get their car serviced from the same place that they purchased it because they might be able to get some freebies (i.e. oil changes, carpet mats). You might want to consider/factor that as well. Good luck

I purchased my car from King's Infiniti in Brooklyn, NY. I did not want to use that dealer but they had the exact car that I wanted and they offered the best price.
I use Ray Catena for service. They have been the most responsive of any of the local dealers I contacted about servicing a car that was not purchased at their respective dealership.
They did my first service (oil change) and my car is actually there right now for a dent wizard service and I have them checking some warranty stuff. So far so good with Catena.

I'm new to the Philly, PA area and wanted to know of a good dealership to take the vehicle in for service. Anyone know or recommend any dealerships?

Re: Ray Catena or Willow Grove?
I had a huge ordeal with all of our local dealers in the last week. After being turned off by being in Lynnes Infiniti, I tried to avoid them, especially after their horrible price. Then after making a deal, I felt that Douglas in Summit screwed me over after offering an outstanding price and promising a car. Well after two days I called and then they admitted to not being able to get the car. So I went back to Ray Catena, they sold the car the day before, but were very nice and I would have gotten it from them if Douglas didn't ruin it for me. Fast forward a few days and a lot of phone calls to all the dealers and I found Circel Infiniti in West Long Branch, NJ. They had a great price and quick response (had the deal after only 2.5 hours of phone calls back and forth) and then got the car yesterday with the exact options I want. They were very nice and I was very impressed, just sad that I had to drive over an hour to get there (I am in South Orange). Sorry this is long, but this was my experience with a few of our local dealerships.

Re: Ray Catena or Willow Grove?
congrats on getting the car you wanted.
sorry you had problems.
i have bought/leased 8 new cars in my day. douglas was a perfect as a car buying experience could be. mine was an order.
either way, enjoy it.
now that the warm weather (and dry roads) are here, i am driving my 6mtC more and more.

Re: Ray Catena or Willow Grove?
Catena was good to me - mine was an order from Japan - got a great price and the delivery service was top notch. The service I got (1st oil change so far) has also been great
My only issue was employee turnover - from order to delivery, I had 3 salespeople and 2 managers handling my order. But, the salesguy who delivered my car tried to make up for the screwups of the previous salesperson and seemed genuinely interested in making sure I was happy. I would reccomend him.
My experience can be summed up as:
If Catena has the car you want, go with them - you will be happy.
If they must order it from Japan - you will get a great deal, but the salesperson may not be there.

STAY AWAY FROM WILLOW GROVE!!!!
Yeah...that was me with the problems at Willow Grove. All the way up to the General Manager - they don't care about their customers. I have proof that they beat my car while it was in for service, but they nor Consumer Affairs seemed to care. The BBB even gave up after no responses from the dealership.
Do yourself a favor - don't give Willow Grove your money nor trust them with your G!
I'm happy with service at Ardmore since then. Highly recommended.

Re: Ray Catena or Willow Grove?
I've never been to Willow Grove but I just got my Coupe 6MT from Ray Catena this past monday. Great service there. I went in there saturday and got approached by a salesman before the door closed behind me. I told them I was about to sign for a coupe at Holman Infiniti down in south jersey (they're good too) and it took them about 5 minutes to give me a better price. John Wall was my guy. He's pretty young but very knowledgable and professional.
Re: Ray Catena or Willow Grove?
when i went to catena a year ago 6-3-03, i think wall was my salesguy too. young. that was a saturday. briefly talked price, said no budging.
made an appt on monday at 6 and was to bring fiance. did test drives. again, no budge on price. he said next day was order day. i said i had to confirm i could get deposit back from bmw.
called a diff dealer who i called on sat. they appeared willing to budge on price. gave them a price i wanted, said otherwise i'm with catena. needless to say, i bought it there.
john wall, or whoever was sales guy, never called me that day or ever.
months later, when debating of staying with coupe or switch to sedan, spoke with another sales guy at catena (closer to my house so more convenient), he followed up properly. i felt bad i didn't give him the sale. they said wall had left. maybe it was bob wall.
