Winter wheels are on
Winter wheels are on
I put my 17" wheels with Blizzak WS-50's on this past weekend and immediately starting mourning the loss of summer. I was starting to think that maybe I put them on to early since the temp has been in the 50's during the day, but I ran into a bit of black ice on Tuesday morning and was happy I had my tires. My car slipped on a downhill turn. I was able to regain control and as I rounded the bend, there was a guy standing next to his Ford Explorer..... which was on it's side in a ditch off the side of the road. I don't think the summer rubber would have saved me like the Blizzaks did.
I hate the look of the car right now though. I guess that's the price we pay.
Never should have gotten rid of the Tacoma...

glad nothing serious happened to you but I totally know how you feel. I just put my winter wheels/tires on and can't STAND the look of them. totally change the car's look and makes it look sooo blahhh. I was actually sad wrapping my summer rims/tires up and storing them away for winter. But... once it snows I will be happy they are on and my 19's are safe and tucked away from the salt and bad weather
Put mine on yesterday as well. Switched from my 18's to my 17 Dunlop Winter Sports M3's. What a different that extra 1/2" of rubber makes in ride quality. I don't think I'll ever upgrade wheel size again.
i put my winter wheels on 2 weekends ago and im already trying to figure out the earliest possible day I can put my summer wheels back on. I am leaving the country for 3 weeks tho so I wont have to look at blah anymore

I love the Bliazzaks, as they do exactly what they're designed to do, but we don't have a foot of snow and ice every day.
The 90% of the time when I'm on dry roads, they offer absolutely no option for spirited driving. They're way too soft, sorta like big fat soft marshmellows.
I'd like a bit more sport in my winter tires, but not too much to cause me to lose the ability to crank along in snow storms.

They're just not a lot of fun on cold dry roads, that's all.
Keep your exit ramps under 80 mph....

question I have no knowledge about tires but i got blizzaks ws-50 and there on oem 17 inch rims the blizzaks are sizes 225-50-17 and 225-55-17 and stock size tires is 225-50-17 and 235-50-17 my question is shouldn't the 225-55-17 be in the rear since its a coupe and the 225-50-17 be in the front?
thanks in advance
