Install Remote Starter in Boston this weekend?

Anyone have any recommendations for a shop to install a remote starter in my mom's FX. I have her car this weekend, and want to surprise her by getting it installed. I'm not sure if this is a problem, but she has the intelligent key feature...

I'd really like to do it tomorrow morning (Sat), so let me know ASAP if you know of a shop that's open! Oh, and I'm also getting tint done at Solar Solutions in Bedford tomorrow. I got a sick quote ($70 for the FX and $170 for my friend's BMW 328 sedan), so let me know if you want to get in on that...

I'm sure they would... might not match perfectly, but I doubt you'd be able to tell.

Hmm.. Circuitcity installed the alarm and auto starter on my G35. They also did it on Dave's evo back in the days. A few good installers work there.

I had a car starter installed on another car at Parkway. They do good work.

As for the intelligent key cars, i read that you have to give up a key (the valet key) and they mount it under the dash in order for the car to receive a transponder signal in order to start the car. You also get another remote.

I want to put one on my I-key equipped G, but i wish i could find a setup that does not need another key under the dash and puts it onto my I-key remote. So far i haven't found it

Rich's Car Tunes in Watertown may do it for you. Not sure if they only install them if you purchase their remote starter though...

thanks for the tips, guys. I ended up getting it done at Vito's Shop in Brighton (near 88). Vito did a good job on the remote start - the install + the Python alarm was $260 all together.

He also did mine and a friend's tint... looks good so far, but I'll have to wait about a week for it to fully cure.

I'm actually located in malden, I know the owners of Parkway Sounds and I used to work for a guy in Cambridge who does a pretty good job.. I'm picking up a g35x w/ I-Key and I was wondering whats needed for a remote start? I really didn't want to stash an I-Key under the steering colume, but is this the only way?

Well you can't use your i-key because then someone can open your doors.

You would need to stash the valet key under the dash. At least that's how it was explained to me. I wasn't crazy about that idea so i have yet to get it done. I'm trying to find a setup that doesn't need me to sacrifice a key to make it work and if possible can be added to my I-key so i only need 1 remote.

I was doing some research on the board this morning, and found there is no alternative.. Even tho someone had a remote start on thier i-key but they had no idea it was there.. if you hit the lock button 3 times it would start the car.. weird but i am hoping there is another alternative.. its cold out here in new england. lol

the only way to do remote-start with the i-key is to hide a valet key under the dash with the starter. that's your ONLY option
