Moving to hampton roads area and have questions

Hey, I am moving to the hampton roads area in the near future but I have no idea where to live. I am 22 and I want to live some where I could have fun and meet people my age. I am thinking virignia beach would be cool but I honestly have no idea. Any suggestions?

it all depends on how much you want to spend on a place...VB is nice but pretty pricey for a decent place, chesapeke is a nice growing area but you have to travel to a bit to find things to do, norfolk is hit or miss along with portsmouth...i mean you get what you pay for...cheap= crime area, nice area=mucho money. where are you going to work?

What would I have to spend if I wanted to live in virginia beach? I have a good amount of money saved and my paycheck will be pretty good. I guess I am more concerned about the area I am living in. I want to make sure its relatively safe because I have a bike and a g35 and I also want to make sure I can have a good time without going too far away from home. What parts of VB should I check out?
