Speeding ticket

i just got my first speeding ticket. I got clocked at 81mph but the cop gave me a break and put me down as doing 75mph on a 65mph road because he said that i was honest when he ask me how fast i was going. The ticket is 100 dollars. Will this make my points go up on my insurance? should i request a hearing?

It will probably affect your insurance depending on your provider. What state are you in? In NJ you can get a lawyer and plead it down to a no points charge and they will just give you a bigger fine. I work for Allstate so I can only say what we would do.

I would suggest going to a one day driver improvement class before the court date. Than you have that to show the judge. This shows the judge your honest and went through a improvement class. Also if you have a clean record this helps too. I did this and was put on 6 month probation period. After that the ticket was dropped.

Good Luck

Fight it. It is a surchargeable and it will cause your insurance to go up.

What state? Your first speeding ticket ever will not effect your insurance. After that: hold on for the tuck!
