Window tint for Illinois

I have read a lot of posts about tinting the g35 sedan. I live in illinois and the current law is any tint on rear windows and none on front and windshield (new law trying to be passed to make 50% legal so I want to get at least 50%)

The last thing I want to do though is get my windows tinted and then get fined for them or have it look bad, so I don't want to push the law too much, but I think I got it down to two choices. I can't figure out if different tint for the front and back sides will look bad or not. So I was wondering which option you guys think is best (or if there's another option preferred):

50% front sides, 35% rear sides and rear (hopefully not too noticeable difference between the front and back that it looks bad, but would be legal)
40% all around (50% all around seems too light and don't think the cops would be too picky)

Also, the car is 05 g35x sedan with silver exterior, stone interior, and black dash. Thanks for any opinions

50% front windows, and 20% on the rears

35% on the back sucks and i want to go darker but our law is 50% on every window for sedans.

Laws in MA is you cant tint ur windshield below 6 inches from the top of windshield. The 4 Door windows can only be 35% and the back window can be wtf you want.

20% is pushing it too much for me. The new law hasn't passed yet so right now we aren't suppose to have any tint on the front windows.

Do you know of any pictures with this setup?

Thanks

Michigan's laws suck like Illinois'. 35% max on the rear doors and rear window. Only the top 4" or so on the front doors and windshield, which looks ghey. I don't want mega-dark, so 50% all around would be nice. But I don't want to pay for it, get a ticket, then pay to have it removed.

OP, I'd wait to see if the law is going to change. If it's in the works, you can get it later. I don't think anything is in the works in MI.

BTW, what really sucks is small trucks and SUV's are exempt from any tinting laws. What a crock.

the law was deny a couple of days ago only because there is a revision that needs to be done for SUV's. Our governor posted about this saying once that revision is done he will easily put this into effect in october. Now he might be telling the truth or he might know loop holes in which he can keep this bouncing around in limbo forever. Saying this now needs to be fixed and that.

You can do 50%F and 35%R. I had my other car blk/blk 35%F and 15%R. It look decent. I dont know what 50% with a stone interior will be like. Since i'm in the same boat with the stone...

if you want the truth man, im still complaining about 35%, its still pretty light. The only time you see its actually dark is at night and my dad parked next to me, his windows arent tinted, not even much of a difference, but if your state is strict about that then stick to 50%

I am leaning to 35% on all the windows on my coupe minus the windshield. Hopefully it doesn't cause too much attraction...

Know of any good places in the suburbs? I am trying to find a place that handles those darn ceramic dots on the rear window and rear side windows. The one place says they usually use black vinyl but claim it is not needed on the coupe. However I have heard otherwise on the forums. Trying to find a good place.

^our law is the same except 50% on every window (suvs and trucks are exempt)

Atleast in Michigen you guys dont have to run front plates. We have that stupid law as well. Minnesota really sucks for car enthusiasts....

I have stone and 50% on the fronts, its completely see through night and day. The backs are 35% and a little darker, but still are completely see through.

Marcus has 20% all around with stone interior and its PERFECT.

I actually just started looking into it a week or two ago so don't know of any good places yet. There is a place in naperville I was going to check out

That doesn't look bad but I can see what your saying about wishing it was darker. Do you have any pics of Marcus's 20%?

I'm starting to lean more towards 35-40% front and 20-30% back. I don't think the cops would give me a hard time for that 10% lower then legal in the front (especially with a stone interior) and hopefully the difference between the front and back wouldn't look bad

^If they are a jerk, they will. Like the dude that gave my friends mom a $130 ticket for 41%.

He gave me 2 tickets for 34%...

Heres Marcus's Sedan.

20% is just PERFECT.
