Just to add to Angels 411. The GN was Buicks muscle car that was produced through the '80's and ending in 87 with boost from the factory.

What Angel lacked to inform us was does his bud's GN have an "X" added to it's badge. Now if that is the case he owns a rare ride (very limited production) with some giddy up in it. The GNX's were sent to McLaren after they came out of the factory with all the bells and whistles for about 10G worth of Mod's and Eye Candy. The boost from the factory was replaced with McLaren's intercooler and a number of other stuff which also included upgrading to 16"'s.
Anyone receiving one of these rare puppies had a V-6 just under 280 bhp running stock. As with the model T Fords, you had one color choice...... Black.

So in the 87 if you were runnin FrannyLew in your pride and joy GNX, you would of had the right to say....Don't Even Think About it. Times have changed or have they. Think of what Mt. Fuji is dewin with the sport cpe for '05, not as radical but a difference from the pack.

I love my G too, but you gotta give props where it's due! The Grand Nash was and is still a sweet car. It was huge sleeper that many guys could tweek to really turn some low numbers at the track! Don't forget, you're talking about 20 years ago..! Holy $hit, I'm getting old!

 

oh I give him props alright , but not to his face , you see this kid you'll act the same , The car is slammin he can be the quickest car on Franny lew but mann does he annoy me w/ it. he runs 11.8 s which is awesome but I still love it when he gets annoyed.

Diesel's right. A sleeper is was right out of the wrapper from the factory. No badgin on the body at all. A small GNX on the recessed grill, that was it. All black, the aluminum wheels where all black except the outer rim. As D1 said in it's day it def was a sweet ride. I think there were only less the 1000 built or even less, not too sure of the build total.

So tell ya bud to stop trash tawkin u, he don't have the real deal, he's runnin a ride with trainning wheels. =)

 

lol I like that training wheels comment .Yeah the GNX is very limited , In fact most of the GNX owners haven't even drove their cars , they keep it in their garage. so if paizan was abusing his GN and it was a GNX wow I'd kill him. goin through his third engine now

If he's running in the 11's then some of his pay checks got sucked in under the hood. Stock X's where runnin somewhere in the mid 13's. Wuz it the grounding kit that did it =)

 

Some?????? lol nuh uh ALLL of his paychecks go to his car, this I beleive is his third engine in it. all he does is hook up that car.

FYI GNX: The only model year was 1987 and only 547 were made. And only a few dealerships sold them... A nice car for it's time.
