Re: G.SQUAD MINI MEETDetailing Seminar in LI, Sept
I read a lot more that I post, but this is something that I am really interested in and would like to join as well. Won't make it before noon though. Is that okay?
Re: G.SQUAD MINI MEETDetailing Seminar in LI, Sept
For those rolling to this event . . .
how does 8:30am - 8:45am meeting time sound? At the corner of Jericho Turnpike and Roslyn rd in the Mineola Walgreens parking lot?
Let me know.

Booda, what exactly is the deal with this in regards to our cars getting worked on? Feel free to hit me up on AIM.
1. Should I wash my car beforehand, or come as skunky as I can.
2. Will all the cars get the scratch treatment or will they just demo their products for us to buy?
3. When I give my car a full detail (wash, clay, wash, compound, polish, zaino) it takes seven hours. Will I be able to do all that, or due to time constraints will they skip steps? I don't feel comfortable using a compound before the car has been clayed.
4. Is it just paint work or can I get my clear bra polished there as well, even though they didn't install it?
Thanks man!

Re: G.SQUAD MINI MEETDetailing Seminar in LI, Sept
Puff, good to hear from you man!
Basically, the way it has been phrased to me is that the goal of Sunday's seminar is to help people address specific problem spots on their car. I don't know if they're going to spend the time to fully work you through it or if they will just get you started, but I do know that the whole deal is that it's hands on. You will actually be working on your car. They want to get as many cars into and out of the shop as possible, and being that this is a multiclub event, there will likely be many cars.
Matt did make a key point of telling me to tell everyone to bring the products that they specifically use since you will be applying to your car, he doesn't expect you to mix product just for the sake of trying his stuff (unless you so choose). Someone who does Zaino, like you and Diesel, is not going to apply another product in the mix and screw up all the work they did with Zaino. Others may be more open.
Considering the time involved, I'm not sure that they will allot enough time do a full start to finish, like a wash, dry, clay, polish, paint prep, topper on a full car. Maybe on a specific piece.
To answer your questions specifically:
1. I'd wash, just in case. Though if you're driving all the way from joisey, it might be a moot point
j/k
2. I don't believe it's just a product demo. I'm sure their products will conveniently come up, and rightfully so, considering they're hosting. I haven't used their stuff myself, but the cars I've seen detailed there have looked stunning so the product must be of substantial caliber. I think the focus will be more on technique then anything else. They will not be detailing your car for you though, so no funny ideas
3. I don't think there will be that kind of time. I think specific problems will be addressed, not a full show car detailing.
4. I don't see any reason why not. The clear bra is part of your car. I think they apply similar techniques. We should definately ask them to address this. Good question Puff!
I know it's a hike for you, but I hope you decide to come on out to the island.
One other thing, if you have a polisher, bring it. They specifically mentioned showing polishing technique.
Sorry for the long post, wanted to make sure to get all the info out there for everyone!

It is a trek for me, but I f'ed up my clear bra royally. Might be worth it since these guys install them and can help me fix it. Put me down.

Re: G.SQUAD MINI MEETDetailing Seminar in LI, Sept
Hello Everyone . . . tomorrow's the day, almost there.
I just got off the phone w/ Matt from Detailing Dynamics. Here's the final scoop:
1. Food will be served. Bagels in the morning and we'll see whatever else as the day goes on. Matt told me he's sending his guy to the best bagel shop in Queens. Don't ask, I don't know which one that is
2. No formal agenda. Questions will dictate what's covered. Again, bring your supplies and tools and you will be taught how to use them.
3. Clear bra is fair game (there you go Puff).
So are we agreed to meet tomorrow morning at 8:30am-8:45am? Corner of Jericho Tpke and Roslyn road, at Walgreens.
Any questions, lemme know.
Any more heads wanna join us? This is an open and free event.

Re: G.SQUAD MINI MEETDetailing Seminar in LI, Sept
The address of the Walgreens is:
1 JERICHO TURNPIKE
MINEOLA,NY 11501 (516) 739-2255
Best way to get there from the west is . . . LIE or Northern State [Grand Central] to Willis Avenue. Go South (right) on Willis Avenue until Jericho Turnpike. Make a Left on Jericho (heading East). Go almost a mile to Roslyn Rd. Walgreens will be on your right hand corner if you're coming from the West.
There may be a Roslyn Rd. exit on the highways, I just don't recall. This is why I mention the Willis avenue exit (which I'm sure of on both highways).
Hope this helps!

Helps a lot! Hopefully I wake up in time.
Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll demonstrate everything on the dirtiest car there
