Dang...I would love to check this out. I would never detail my own car because I am too lazy. But its still good stuff to know.
If I had 2 weeks advance notice, I couldve take the day off. I will still try to see if I can talk my way into getting that day off anyway.

Hey Booda
I'm down.
I agree with what Mista wax off, wax on said.
I know the building they are in. It used to be East Coast Detailing in there and an auto wholesaler on the rightside of the building.

NY MINI MEET Detailing Seminar in LI, Sept.26
Hey everyone,
My buddies at Detailing Dynamics will be hosting a free detailing seminar on Sunday, September 26 at their shop in Mineola, NY.
They guys are looking to drop some detailing knowledge while introducing you to their shop and products. They will focus on detailing technique.
These guys did the clear bra on my G. Their work is top notch (feel free to take a look at the bra at this Sunday's meet), their shop is amazing, and they run a class operation. I haven't had my car detailed by them (yet) because I keep telling myself that I'll do it soon
Some of my buddies have had there cars detailed at this shop and the results have been off the hook.
The shop is what everyone dreams their garage could be. If you have time, stop by and check these guys out.
Here is the info that I have (copied directly from an email I received):
Date: Sunday, September 26, 2004
Time: 9:00A.M. till ...
Address: 66 Windsor Ave., Mineola, NY 11501
Phone: 516-747-4114
Here are the directions with address and telephone number.

To learn more, also see the Tip of the Month section:

We will try to get as many cars into the shop as we can depending on
how
many show, we will still try to address all trouble spots on your car.
There
will be an introductory presentation and Q&A session. Bring your
orbital
polishers as Matt and company will show you hands on techniques on your
cars
after the presentation.

The guys at DD are great -- Matt and Eddie both took fantastic care of my car when they did my clear bra. The shop is world class and the automotive eye candy when I visited the shop was absolutely ridiculous. Check out the website (www.detailingdynamics.com) for a sample.
If anyone has any questions or comments, drop me a line.

I'm glad to see that there is some interest in this! It should be a good time. These guys are cool and they know their sh*t. If nothing else it'll be a good opportunity to learn. Like Diesel said, you can never know too much.
Neil, I believe you are correct about the building. I think these guys used to be in Port Washington and outgrew their original spot.
KingofJericho . . . drop me a pm w/ an email address. I'll scan this sheet I have which shows the pieces and the associated pricing. I actually had a bra put on by my dealer originally. The work was garbage. Edges were exposed and it was peeling in spots. I had Detailing Dynamics redo it for me. They said the pieces on my hood and A pillars were done well enough (wrapped under) so they told me to keep that. They redid my mirrors, fenders, and most importantly the bumper. What DD does that not many places can do is that they do the bumper as a custom cut one piece. No kit, just a raw piece of material that they custom cut for your bumper. Their work is tight.
When I dropped my car off there was another 6MT coupe there (DG) that just had a bra done. Anybody here?

Re: G.SQUAD MINI MEETDetailing Seminar in LI, Sept
I would say my biggest question is if there are any benefits to installing a water purification system onto the water outlet that you use to wash you car. Is there anything that can be done to avoid waterspots. Eventhough I dry it, there is always a trace amount of water somewhere. Basically looking for the Mr.Clean thing w/o having to use that stupid gun that uses a gallon of soap!
If there are water purifiyingsystems available, what's best...etc etc!
