Passenger Side Window Problem

This just happened recently and i don't know what may have caused it. Sometimes when i pull passenger window up, i hear the click noting that the switch is working but the window doesn't go up. I get it to work by opening the door and closing it. Sometimes I'd have to open and close the door couple times till it works. Any ideas on what may be causing this problem.

Your not getting much of a response because A) this is a regional section and B) this is a fairly common problem with our cars and has been discussed a million times in some of the tech areas of the forum.

The problem is the motor for the window being burnt out or something obstructing the path of the glass so for safety it wont go up.

I recommend you use the search function above and call your dealership next to repair.

I had the same problem I would hit the window buttom and it would click but the window wouldn't go up or down, and I would wait a few minutes and it would start to work again. I took it to the dealer and they reprogramed the window computer, and I havn't had any more problems since.

Sorry, first time posting thread so not quite familiar on how it works. Thanks for the advice. Maybe like a month or so back i had reset the window switch because of it closing and re-opening half way. Due to what 04nismoG said, isn't resetting the window switch like reprogramming the computer? And i don't think there is anything blocking the window because if there was, opening and closing the door wont really solve that issue, noting that this has happened couple times now.

sounds like you need a new window motor.. i recommend autozone as u can get a lifetime warranty with it and wont have to worry about buying another one ever agn.. or if ur car is under warranty just go to the dealer

Resetting the window is not reprogramming it. Thats problem I had they kept installing new window motors and the motors would only last about three weeks or more after the third motor they finally took the car to the dealer and they reprogrammed the window computer and all was fine after that.

Do not go to autozone for a window motor...I can not stress that enough!!!

This is a common problem, I had the same problem with my G. There is a simple fix to this problem, Are you good with your hands? If you are all you need to do is remove your door panel, take the window motor off the regulator, remove the cover from the motor and clean the brushes in the motor. Then put it back together and your good to go.

If you have any questions just pm me or email g35ian@gmail.com

I've taken the panel apart before to reset the switch when the window would not close automatically, so this shouldn't be that hard. If i need any help though, i will pm you. Thanks a lot
