Recall

I just called my Infiniti dealer in Ramsey NJ for my first 3,700 mile service and I was told they need to keep teh car and extra 45 minutes because there is a brake light recall. I asked if the brake light goes out and they said it can cause other electrical problems. Just an FYI- I will re-post on Monday the 23rd.

Re: Recall

They will replace the brake light switch and the small wiring harness attached to it. Make sure they road test your cruise control after the work.

Re: Recall

why road test the cruise control? I just had my recall done on tuesday. Should I check my cruise control to make sure it still works???

Re: Recall

I just had my brake light switch fixed on Friday (as well as the the new stopper kits replaced on my windows) and noticed the day after that the brightness level on my instrument panel got reversed somehow. For example, when I turn on my headlights, the panel dims. When the headlights are off, everything is bright (and can't be adjusted). I'm guessing that a wire got crossed at the dealership. Just made an appt to bring it back next week. Another morning wasted.

Re: Recall

Huh? Ok, I don't know about the rest of you, but when I turn my headlights on, my panel dims, and when I turn them off, they're bright again - isn't that what it's supposed to do?

You've lost me.....

I don't know. Something definitely doesn't seem right. Maybe I'm the one thats got it wrong. Can anyone else verify this?

Re: Recall

normally a dimming with the headlites turned on is the norm, because the system adjusts for nightime usage. Either way it should still be adjsustable to your preference, if not something is wrong. G35coupe/Pick up July/Fully loaded w/

Re: Recall

"Why road test cruise?"

Because the cruise switch is near the brake light switch and it may get out of adjustment during the change which would render the cruise inoperable.

The Infiniti mechanic who worked on my car told me this after his road test. They learned it by trial and error after having problems with previous brake light recall jobs.

So just check the criuse after this recall is done and if it doesn't work you can tell the mechanic what to look for!

Re: Recall

What are the stopper kits for the windows? I am going for brake recall tomorrow on my coupe, and have noticed that when the windows are partially open, there is a creaking sound from them. Are the kits related to that, or is it the grease problem? I don't see a TSB listed for a creaking noise.

Re: Recall

The kits address the grease problem that many of the early production coupes have. Not positive, but I think they basically just change the felt inside the door. By the way, I also have the creaking sound coming from my window when its partially open. Pretty used to it by now.
