Warning For All New Jersey Drivers!!

Sorry if this has been posted before.. But even if it has, its worth seeing again for those who don't know about it!!

New Jersey will launch a 30 day speeding ticket frenzy. The state estimates that 9 million dollars will be generated in speeding tickets alone. 1 million will go to pay state troopers over time!

There will be 50 state troopers on duty at all times patrolling the 9 main NJ intersections and highways.

I-95 (TURNPIKE)
GSP (GARDEN STATE PARKWAY)
I-295
1-80
I-287
I-78
I-195
1-280
Rt. 130

Warning for everyone: 5+ mph above the limit can justify a ticket and every state trooper is supposed to pull a car over and write a ticket every 10 minutes. They have issued 30 brand new unmarked Crown Victoria cruisers and they are bringing in all their part timers on full time. If you work in New Jersey, New York, CT, or PA wherever it may be, and you must take one of these interstates, routes, or parkways, BE CAREFUL. We are in hot looking cars, so if there is a pack of cars going 75 down the turnpike, we have a good chance of being singled out. I was told 101.5 FM confirmed all of this, and I have heard this from many people who have a family member or such on the force, who have warned their family and friends, so be careful.

Personally, I feel this is complete BS. I can't believe they are doing this. They can basically pull over every single car on the road, since I dont think I have ever seen people that actually do the posted speed limit on these highways, in particular the Turnpike where it randomly drops to 55, and people continue to cruse at 70-75 (if not 80-85) from the 65.. I bet they clean up there.

ok so i guess the 10 or so cars i saw pulled over were just hanging out w/ the troopers. needless to say, this information is probably no longer current

I am not sure about those numbers or not, but the stings are REAL. On tuesday, 7/12/05 I was driving from NJ Turnpike exit 9 to exit 3 and counted 17 cop cars, 6 unmarked on just the south bound lanes alone. Just be carful.

^Agreed.

I think that the details may be somewhat over exaggerated, but I think the cops are cracking down. However, I was on the pike yesterday and crused the whole way at 80 and didn't see any cops, or anyone pulled over for that matter.

These are ALL fake. If you have any relatives or friends in NJ law enforcement they will confirm this. Sadly, just another form of junk email floating around.

Nope, def true. I drove up to NYC on Sat morning, and in a matter of 7 minutes, I saw 3 unmarked and 2 marked cars on the turnpike. I saw a total of 8 the entire trip, but there were def more out than I am use to seeing and I use to travel this all the time, besides when I lived in Northern Jersey.

^^ werd. You might think you are seeing excessive cops on the road. You probably drove past a section when they had a dedicated speed trap or it was around quota time. My coworker's brother in law is a state trooper. He hooks us up with PBA cards all the time. He said this was fake back in March when it started going around. Same exact text too.

speeding is speeding weather u are 5pmh or 30 mph over the speed limit, or just driving along with traffic at 70mph, its all considered speeding, anything over the posted limit is considered speeding. state troopers never write warnings, its either ticket the fool or arrest him for something (dui), they have zero tolerance in mass too, its because of that dam movie, FAST AND FURIOUS, it ruined it for all us real tuners, made alot of noobs think they are racers too ;oh god.

Just in!!

Channel 7 news talking about how state troppers are vamping up to curb aggressive drivers and speeders on I78.

So keep an eye out for those that use that interstate.

Just passing the info

There was an article in the Philly paper this morning how NJ has added 66 troopers to the force. They have written 50% more tickets in the past three months on the Turnpike and GSP than over the same period last year.

So whether or not the story is true, I would watch out.
