hmmmmph, we learnt from Detailing Dynamics two weeks ago NOT to bring our cars to any kind of car wash...LOL the guy insisted that a dirty car is better than a clean car coming out of a car wash.....
the best thing is to wash yer own car, but since you live on a side street, it's probably not the most wise thing to do, huh
you're more than welcome to come over to the boonies to my house to wash yer car! LOL.

I go to the spray and wash on Umbria St. in Roxborough. They are usually open in cold weather.

How do you mean 'not safe'? Not safe for you because it's cold out, or not safe for the paint somehow?

I am still washing my G every weekend despite the temperature. I just can't stand a dirty car. Should I not be doing this?

Yeah, just come on over. If it's above 40oF this weekend, I'm def washing my car. It's sooooo filthy right now. My black car's almost turning into DG pretty soon if I didn't wash it.. LOL
Shelah, call me if you wanna come hang out.

Lynn

Its self service. It's won't make your car spotless, but it gets the job done. Just don't use the brushes.

Also as you head out on Umbria Street from Manayunk there is a detail/hand wash place just before the Ivy Ridge train station (Acroos from Union Jacks). I have never been there, but it might be worth checking out.

hey just wanted to give an update of the above mentioned self-service car wash if any of you were interested. --thx Philly_G35
its at a gas station on umbria just before domino ln in roxborough.

since it actually hit 40* yesterday i figured i'd take the dirty G over there and check it out. i took all my materials over there and only used them for the water and space basically. everything worked out well except for the fact that there is a big sign stating NO BUCKET OR HAND WASH -so i had to work quick! lol. but i put my 10 quarters in ($2.50 if you didnt want to think) the water stayed on for quite a while but i just missed the final rinse so had to do it all over again. i think if you work quick enough you can do it all for one rinse through. anyways, the spray didnt seem toooo strong so i wasnt overly worried about messin up the paint (and i am a detailing nut).

anyways.....just though i'd let you know the place was nice if you're in the area. thx again, philly G35.
