Lightbulb

usually when i see a cop i just hit the gas and hop off at the next exit. i hate cops. let me see if i have this number around, i got a traffic lawyer whos an ex-NYC traffic court judge. i havent had to use him in a year or two, and hes pretty expensive but its worth it. his number should be hanging on my fridge. he got me out of a lot of trouble a few times. ill check it when i get home and send you a PM.

I hope it all works out for you.

I have a Valentine One version 1.8 w/ POP that might be better use to you than sitting in my beater car which only see local roads anyway...

Hey hating on cops for giving stupid fix-it-tickets is one thing...going 97 on a 65 mph highway is just asking for trouble.

I beat a ticket like this many years ago. This was on Long Island since I was at the Cooper Street court in Hempstead. It took them 52 days to mail me the supporting deposition. A friend who is a lawyer told me pleasd not guilty, request a supporting deposition and mail it certified with a return receipt requested (I get a legal document of whe they received the mail. The post mark on the letter to me was the legal proof on when it was mailed out to me. My 85 in a 55 was reduced to a seat belt (no points at the time) which was fine with me

I haven't seen 65 mph on major Highways on LI. almost all of them are 55 mph.

http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/license.htm#points

look at this

"If you receive 11 points or more in 18 months, the DMV suspends your driver license. You can request a DMV hearing only to show that a different person committed the violations. You cannot request a DMV hearing to prove that you were not guilty of the violations. You cannot request a DMV hearing to request a waiver of the suspension."

damn, wish you the best of luck. you think you can make up an emergency story? saying u are visiting someone in the hospital? of coz you will need proof. ask around, maybe you can find one.

Cops

I'm thinking the 2 tickets will be an easy kill for the lawyer. My girlfriend is a cop and she seems to think the judge will hammer the trooper with "Was it 90 or 97 and if you dont know then you are guessing". You might get lucky. Generally speaking in the penal code you cannot write multiple tickets for 1 infraction. He should have written you a failure to stop but he didnt so the whole stop sounds screwed up. Def get a lawyer though. Good luck.

PS: Got stopped doing 90 in a 45 (work zone) and got off with a NYC PBA card. Go figure. Doubled fines in work zones here. That was on the palisades prkway.
