Got Pulled Over In Long Island New York, Fellow Long Islanders Please Help Me!
Well, i had a bad morning, i was going to cap tree to see all the hot cars , so no problems getting there, then when i come home i get nailed for doing 90, and 97 miles, an hour. Bassically as i was driving, i saw a state trooper, on the other side of the highway, so i didnt think anything of it. So i kept goin not realizing how fast i was going. so i get pulled over and he writes me three tickets, two for speeding, 97, and 90, and a tint ticket. So i bassically i dont know what to do, i going to get a get lawyer, but how much will this cost me? AND will i lose my license whats going to happen from this? PLEASE HELP ME!

i got a speeding ticket as well in yorktown ny coming home cop gave me a ticket for 95 on a 55... thats an 8 point ticket but in ur case it can b an 11point ticket been that u got 2.. yes u can loose ur liscense.. im on the same boat as u man.. my suggestion is u hire a lawyer.. i hired one and it was pricey but i think its worth not loosing my liscense.. case is still pending and this happened in october of 05...

damn Mike that totally sucks. I got a 80 in a 50 a little while back. I got a court date in may for that joint. I dunno your situation sounds really hairy, def get a lawyer. How can he justify giving you 2 tickets though? I mean technically he's only pulling you over for one of them. I don't think that makes any ssense and may help you out. Good luck

I have a very good lawyer for you... he is located in Hempstead right across the street from the Nassau county court house. Where do you have to go for the ticket? He is very reasonable with fee’s...I'm sure he could be of help. PM me with your phone number, & I'll give you a buzz and get you connected with him
Make copies of the the two speeding tickets. Plead not guilty. get a traffic lawyer. A good lawyer will get the tickets reduced. If you don't get a depostion in a month there is very good chance the ticket will get dismissed.

The officer might have saved your car's paint job. Imagine if some idiot driving much slower than you had gotten in your way. Most people drive much too slowly and have no regard for vehicles travelling at excessive speeds. These people should take it to the parking lots.
Seriously, now that I have had my fun . . . It's going to cost you a big ticket regardless of what you do and whatever the outcome is. Good luck!

reading this statement made me flashback to when i got cap for speeding. doing 85 in 65. paid total 400 dollars for ticket and points off license.

hey man i was in ur same boat i have no license since june its taken away for a year i get it back june 2006 if im lucky.. my story i was driven and got a seat belt ticket and my license was taken away cuz i had a junior license..so then i have a restricted license and im driven in the city with some chick doen 50 in a 30 get pulled over bam 3 tickets 4 days latter still driven bam 2 tickets i have such bad luck anyway dont waste time on a lawyer just plea not guilty and go to court then meet with the officer before the court and plea the ticket down...then go take a deffensive driving class.u will prob get on eof the tickets dropped so dont worry...cops always get big wen they write the tickets but then when u meet them months down the road they are the nicest people to talk to..

i had 3 more tickets before i got my license taken away also so since june of 05 till january 06 i have been paying tickets and goen to court cuz for some reason all my tickets winded up being 3 weeks apart court dates so i had about 9 tickets 4 speeding 3 seatbelt and some otherdisobeying restricted license rules and driven in nyc with a junior license tickets anyway 3000 dollars down the road..there goes my rims..**** THA POLICE

You are on the right track of getting a lawyer for yourself in a situation like this.
best of luck man. state troopers are harder to deal with than suffolk or nassau cops.

Mike, don't wanna beat a dead horse but Sat. & Sun. at that hour on all the L I highways is prime time for the highway patrol boyz. They are out in force and speeders are prime targets and easy pickins for them with the lighter traffic on the road.
Was this on Ocean Parkway which is a very inviting road to exercise the G.

First off you really need to get a radar. However, keep in mind that even speeding that fast with one is risky. I've never heard of two speeding tickets like that before. Something obviously bit this cop on the @ss and he is out for blood. You must have really pissed him off. He's giving out creative tickets on purpose and knows that you will take this one to court; he's got some greater plan in mind when you goto court. Unforntunately it looks like you will need a lawyer for this one. Sorry about your luck. The lawyer can talk to you about cost; keep us updated.
