Chime in if you can help.

Hey, I was driving down the highway yesterday and out of no where my car just shut off. My only mods are intake and exhaust that have to deal with the engine. I've had the intake onfor 13,000 miles with no issues and the exhaust on for 5,000 miles with no issues. My check engine light is now on. I called the dealership but they wouldn't look at it yesterday (Ramsey) they said toleave it butthey wouldn't giveme a loaner. Has anyone had this issues? My car isa 05 6MT btw. And, I know when I actually go in for service, ramsey isgoingto say something about the intake

wow, that suxs. my old car used to do that (it was a 99 eclipse), and until today I still don't know what happened that day when it just shut off by itself. everything was back to normal the day after. i sold that car last year, and so far no calls from the buyer about that...

have you done any stereo mods (subs, amp, etc)? if you did, i would re-checked the grounds for the engine, the battery, etc.. to make sure it's connected right, and not loosely connected.

I agree with shoebox4, check all your wiring. I have an 05x, and i wired a radar detector into the rear view mirror (it has a power supply), but much to my surprise, the japanese had opposite norms for positive and negative, so i reversed the polarities on the wires. Ok, so long story short, I blew the alternator fuse, but the car still ran... for a while. LoL. I was on the highway and the car just shut off on me. I had enough momentum to get to the breakdown lane, and after about10 minutes, i found the fuse and its been fine. But it did cause the check engine light to come on....

Oh yeah, and Auto Zone should be able to clear the check engine light for you for free. They did mine for free anyway..... Infiniti usually charges at least $80 for it.
