as far as housing goes, whenever you are near a major method of transportation to nyc, it will never be cheap. there are several ways to the wall st area. the problem is, that one way or another it is not cheap. the ferries are the most expensive, but at the same time, the fastest. the quickest lines for nywaterway are hoboken south, newport, harborside and colgate. at the same time these 4 are the cheapest for nywaterway. housing in those areas tho are rather pricey. alot of commuters drive to the terminals and park there. if you expand your search to the metro nyc area you have alot more options. but if you're looking solely in nj then you are limited to ferries until they open up the PATH trains. and even then the closest they will get you is to the WFC.
good luck

There are hundred thousand people come to nyc to work from NJ, all my friends including me spend 2 to 3 hours on commute round way every day unless you live areas right by the river, but most of those areas may not be the good place to park your G35 or drive it around.

pretty much anything middle to north jersey and all outerboros on nyc. maybe even the beginning of upstate ny, white plains etc. good luck on the pricing of housing tho. at that price range, you'd be looking at mid jersey. you'd probably be able to do a small condo in northern jersey. houses at that price range are very hard to find and be within 1 hour of nyc. good luck.
