i was supposed to go up to bythabay's place last weekend to change my oil, but for a variety of reasons, i couldn't make it up there. i have a really bad back from a herniated disc so getting under there to change it myself is hard to justify with all the pain i'll have to deal with, so here i am, @ frontier infiniti getting my oil changed.
i've asked them to measure the amount of oil coming out to ensure there is no consumption problem that i have read about in several threads here and @ my350z. call me paranoid but i'd like to be sure, especially since i went 3700 miles between changes and that time included a dyno run and some spirited driving on skyline, calaveras, the 9, etc. (and yes, i brought my own oil, some castrol gtx 5-30....)
anyway i'm in the fortunate position of sitting right by the window, watching the guy empty my oil out, and surprise surprise, they're actually measuring it! my service adviser gave me a little grief but said he would "request it" for me, so i'm a little surprised it is getting done. damn, i wish i had a garage and one of those lifts.... definitely something to consider if/when i design and build a home down the line
we'll see if they give me any grief for my red stillen sways or the lowered stance on the Z springs. in the meanwhile, i'll be stealing as much coffee and hot choco as i can... since i don't plan on doing much service here i suppose the service amenities aren't a big deal, but i'm having a flashback to the bmw dealership next door, theie free food and big screen tv(s) hehe....
i'll post up later what the results were, i should at least *try* to get some work done whle i'm sitting here during business hours
