Have you been to the Jewelery/Gift Center in SF? All the stores in there give you great prices.

I've bought diamonds from Edward's Jewelry in there. He probably doesn't remember me as its been a couple years, but the guy I dealt with was Jean Paul (415) 626-9333. He was a very nice guy and seemed trustworthy.

 

i'm planning to check that place out. my only reservation is that with sapphires, there's no grading system like there is for diamonds

 

Don't go to the SF Gift Center! That stuff is garbage. My cousin is a lapidary... "jem cutter."

Considering that the diamonds I have purchased are certified and have been appraised by other jewelers for significantly higher than what I paid, I don't think their stuff is garbage. It's all about going in there informed...

I can't speak for other gems besides diamonds, but I got a D, VVS1 for a great price.

I've been to a couple jewelers on Market St...great places and good prices, but they couldn't get me that quality of a diamond in the size I wanted...not sure why.
