Please don't take offense to the smog thing and trying to sell your Z.
It never was my intention to steer ppl away from your sale, just thought it was important to mention the (what I thought was current) registration issues with smog testing and change of ownership.

Why don't you take it into the dealership to get the headunit replaced? This way you won't have to post this note in your sale thread. It would alleviate any concerns/questions from potential buyers.

Since its an 05 w/ only 6500 miles...it's definitely still under warranty, so no cost to you!

Nice find on the new rules change!! DMV can sometimes be helpful and for you they may have just capped off the hard part of the sale. Good Luck!
