FS for the NorCal area: Magazine Featured Custom 2005 Black 6MT 350Z Turbo Convertib

For sale is the former Brainstorm Performance and APS sponsored 2005 350z Roadster. This car is a 6MT, convertible, with 6,500 miles for $33,499. Purchased in April 2005, the APS Single Turbo kit was professionally installed and tuned by APS/Brainstorm in Los Angeles to put out almost 400hp. Aside from being dynoe’d, the car has never been taken to the track, drifted, or raced on a road course. This car has been well taken car of and was displayed at the Brainstorm Performance store. The bodykit is pristine. The custom burgundy interior is immaculate. It has been tastefully designed for the JDM look and to perform well at the track. All parts were new at the time of installation and the car is ready to drive, no tuning required. Attached are pictures. This car has also been featured in Modified Magazine’s December issue (see pages 78-84). Upgrades are below:

APS Single Turbo (Installed and tuned by APS Head Development Engineer and Brainstorm Performance)
APS 2.5” Dual Exhaust

Drivetrain
Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch
Jim Wolf Technology Flywheel

Interior
Custom Black/Burgundy interior
Burgundy leather covering center console, entire interior door panel, seats, and roll hoops.
Custom gauge pod in center console with Autometer gauges

Stillen Type 1 Rear Wing
Seibon TS Style Hood
Smoked taillights

19x10” SSR D5R w/Toyo T1R 275/35-19 5mm tread
Stoptech front and rear BBK

Serious inquiries ONLY. Car will be sold as a whole and WILL NOT BE PARTED OUT. This sale is local Northern California preferred but are open to other inquiries. Shipping or pickup will be responsibility of the buyer. This sale will require bill of sale and release of liability to be completed at the DMV during time of purchase. Potential buyer must provide current drivers license and proof of insurance prior to test drive. The car stereo is stuck on one station in AM. CD works fine. There is curb rash on the RR and RF rims, but easily repairable if desired.

So how will you sell it? You as the seller have to provide the SOMG cert in Cali.

It is my understanding that new cars do not need to be smogged for four years.

^^ That is true, but I think it's 5 years as long as you're the original owner of the new car.

It's my understanding when you sell any car to private party, DMV requires it to pass smog when it's sold and it's the Sellers responsibility to to provide the smog certif to the Buyer.

With no certif., the Buyer will not be able to get it registered with DMV.

Thought it was six years for the new owner but I may be mistaken.

Yes it is 4 years but when you sell the car you are no longer the owner and the new owner does not get that benefit. So basically they would be buying a car they could not register for the street.

^^^ Hmmm...it's longer than 4 years.
Bought my wife a new vehicle in May 2001 and have yet to have it smog tested. May of 07 it will have it's first required smog test = 6yrs.

Anyways...yeah that's a sweet Z, but good luck getting it to pass smog.
It may be ok from the tailpipe emissions end, but it will fail visually b/c the APS Turbo is not CARB approved or could be pending approval, idk.

I'm gald that hte Gov'nator got the SOMG check exteneded to 6 years. I was not sure of the extension but I was sure of the 4 year rule. He may be able to sell that Z to someone on a non-op basis and the new owner can contact APS to see where they are on the CARB cert. Long shot but maybe the only shot in Cali.

According to the DMV website, the 2005's are exempt of smog inspection on a transfer of ownership:

"Beginning January 1, 2005, vehicles 4 or less model-years old are exempt from the Smog Check inspection requirement upon change of ownership and transfer of title transactions with DMV. In 2006, this exemption includes model-years 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. "

http://www.smogcheck.ca.gov/StdPage....ck/doineed.htm

This car is a great car to drive, fun, reliable, and looks good!
