Pumpkin Swap

So I'm about to acquire a pumpkin from a 04 Base 6MT 350z. I'll be swapping it into my 5AT sedan and was wondering if anyone local has done this. Any hints or tips you can provide? Would it be worth it to pay a shop to do it? Or is this doable by myself.

I've done simple installs on my own, sway bars, brakes, intake, spacers, etc. but I've never really touched the tranny before. I did find a DIY on my350z though.

If you don't have access to a lift, take it to a shop. The pumpkins are really quite heavy, so you don't want to be lying under the car trying to do this.

If you have a lift, it's fairly straightforward though.

Why are you swapping with the 350Z guy? Just for the 3.5 gear? The base 350Z has an open diff, so you wouldn't get LSD like if you switched with any other trim 350Z.

Yea I just want the 3.5 gear. I didn't think the extra cost of the oem vLSD was worth it, especially since I have my eye on a Quaife. Plus, I currently have an open diff on my car (I have a '03 non-sport model), it would mean I would have to get different axle stubs as well.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I am going to take it to a shop.
