Does anyone know.

I landed at SFO airport late on Tuesday and was heading home when I came up to the toll booth on I-80 (Carquinez Bridge I think) well I must have had a brain fart as it was 12:20AM and I drove straight through without paying the toll, there were like only 2 cars on the road and one went straight through (must have had fasttrak) and I did the same . As soon as I went through I realised what had happened and took the next exist and came back around and came back to the booth, this took about 5 mins max, I spoke to the guy and told him what happened and he said yeah you got zapped and will recieve something in the mail but I paid him $8 to cover both crossings.

Now does anyone know what happens when I get the fine in the mail as this has never happened to me before, is there a place where I can tell them that I came back around and paid both or do I tell them to check the video footage to see me coming back and paying Man I am so confused.

I don't think so, I think you still gotta pay the fine, I had to pay the fine cause I wasn't paying attention before too, It's like $30 I think.

If it's your first time, you will just get a fine (I paid $7 fine but that was like 5 years ago). It just tells you its your first offense..blah blah...next time you pay more..blah blah.

No biggie

I would if I was going over a bridge on a daily basis but I actually only go over one when I have to fly out of SFO. My job now requires me to fly even more than usual but fortunately my company pays all tolls and milage so I will just expense the fine and call it a day

Hope to see you at the meet tomorrow

Ah I see, makes sense. I just got one for convenience.

I'll be there tomorrow... I should probably hit the sack now so I can wake up in time. I'm looking forward to checking out your new beast

Do they do 100% ticketing for not paying tolls out here? I know in where I used to live outside of DC they had so many people do that (either because they forgot, or their EasyPass didn't pick up, etc), but they only ticketed like 20%.
I know I went through at least twice and my EasyPass didn't register for some reason and another when I was driving my second car and forgot to take the EasyPass with me, and I never got anything about it in the mail.

you might be able to get out of the $4 for the crossing if you got a recepit, btu I think you still owe the fine. Do like others, just get yourself fastrak, you don't even have to remember to bring it with you or worry whether or not it registered as you were going through. All that matters is that your license plate is in their database then you won't get a ticket.

^^^This is true. Times I forget my fastrak or it didn't pick-up while going through.
System looks up your plate and sees your account then they just add it onto your account as a normal crossing.

Paul...you could set up an account with your company or your own. They give annual 1/4 reports free. Monthly reports for a charge or download toll usage off their site. Take that report and add it to your expense report with your company.

See...if you had fastrak, then we wouldn't have been putting looking/wondering about you while caravaning to Stanford and you not having to...(how fast did you say ) in trying to catch up
And me not thinking, come-on Paul, get that snail spooled up...where are you!!

I changed lanes at the toll booth thinking the other was faster but hell no, nothing ever goes well when your in a rush, I was going around 100mph but weaving from lane to lane was making me stand out so I decided to slow down to 80mph. I found out later that you guys went 280 and I went 101 so we would have never met up at any speed..lol
