I'm assuming it involves taking your upper intake plenum off, removing the throttle body from the upper plenum and cleaning it with a degreaser. I am actually doing this tomorrow to my G since I'm putting on a MD spacer. You wanna clean it probably every 20K or so. it's real easy to do and makes idling smoother, and acceleration a little more crisp.

Hmmm, when you said it is very easy to do, can we do it ourselves or have we have to bring it to the shop for some special tools?
thanks

Oh no, we can easily do it with a metric socket set. Here is a link to Motordyne's instruction manual that will show you how to take the intake plenum off. Then I think there is only 4 more bolts that connect the Throttle Body to the plenum. Unplug the throttle body's wiring harness and completely remove. Then you can clean it with some intake/carb cleaner and a few clean rags. Open the butterfly valve of the throttle body and clean it until the rags aren't getting any more grime. Then reinstall. It will make a difference. http://motordyneengineering.com/manual.asp

P.S. If your car has around 50K I would suggest cleaning the Mass Air Flow Sensor as well, but you'll need special MAF sensor cleaner for that.

You don't need to take off the plenum to deal with the TB.

From what I know the service is just taking it off and cleaning it with some TB spray. It's about a 30 minute job and an easy DIY.

Is there any advantage to cleaning the plenum itself as well?

It's easier to access the 4 TB bolts after having had remove the entire upper plenum/collector. While the upper plenum is off, you can wipe away any oil which might have collected in the lower plenum.

That's what I was thinking. I mean I know you can pull just the throttle body off but you might as well clean the plenum as well IMO.

Hmmm...My '05 sedan just quit on my wife. She said it wouldn't go over 20 MPH and started shaking. The VDC light started flashing and the 'service engine soon' light came on. I took it to the dealership and they immediately said the throttle body had to be replaced. It was all covered under warranty. Sounds like a common problem.

I had a similar problem with my Maxima about a year ago. It turned out to be the Mass Air Flow Sensor.

Same problem with my G04 coupe. My car was like few months old when the dealer replaced the Air flow sensor unit. They told me it would cost over $600 for that unit but since my car was new, everything covered. I was on I-5 in Sac and couldn't go over 25mph even I pressed the gas petal all the way down, people think I was kidding around but I was like heck no ===>the car didn't speed up!!!!!Scary moment there!!
