I know of a place that does them for a pretty good price and are very high in quality. My friend had his powdercoated black w/ polished lip, and I had my set bronzed. So far his set is still perfect after 2 yrs and mine are perfect after 1. I am currently at work, but I will post pics and more info when I have time.

btw this is my first post!
I drive a 98 prelude right now, but am in the market for a g!

edit: bored at work so I looked up my pic off of bayareaprelude.com

"hmm it costs me 250 for them to strip the old paint, powdercoat the rims, and a layer of clearcoat. They came out very well, no chips whatsover even after a few months.

heres a pic. "

heres a pic of my friends car with the rims on

His real occupation is mostly computer parts, but does this as a sidejob. Because of that, he only has the common colors available (colors that computers usually come in like black, white, red, blue, etc) If you want something he does not have in stock, he'll order it for you for another 20 bucks or so.
His rims are also baked at 400 degree temps to ensure that they wont be prone to easy chipping.

Here is the contact info. Please tell him JIMMY that had his white rims powdercoated sent you, and that I got mine done for 250, so he can give you an equivalent price, if not slightly higher (since G rims are usually bigger)

That's dirt cheap. Wheel Techniques gave me a quote around $700.

I got our wheels powdercoated at a place called EPS in Hayward for about $400 and that's for stripping the old paint too (he had to send it to a stripper). Look for Mike, this guy is very nice, so be nice to him, don't low-ball or anything. He doesn't normally do wheels, but he gets the job done and the quality is top-notch. After all, powdercoating is his job.

Oh he gets off early like 1pm or something. Call him in the AM.

here's a pic of what he did to our rims.

Some people think its actually better than the stock bronze TE37 color.

Just wondering why you had to get them redone? were they damaged or just wanted a diff. tone of color?

anyways, they look good!

dknydiep,

What was the turnaround time? $250 is a great deal as long as it doesn't take forever.

I bought the rims almost brand new, with 90% thread Toyo Proxes on them for $2000 (I thought it was a steal), however they were silver and looked really bad on a white car. We really wanted the bronze TE37, so I looked for a powdercoater and I saw this bronze with flakes on his swatches and agreed on the price and that was it.
