Did I Get a Ticket?

I just got pulled over in front of my house. This cop was following me down this long stretch of road and I got home and then he flashes his light behind me just as I parked.

He told me that I was speeding. But, he never gave me my ticket. So does that mean that I didn't get a ticket or am I going to receive one in the mail later? I didn't even sign anything.

Well, he told me to go to him and he told me to never ever speed in this part of town again. He checked my previous records too. Before that, he asked me what tickets have I gotten previously and I told him I got one for crossing a divided highway. Then he called me a liar and said that I failed to mention that I got a speeding ticket too (but that was over a year ago).

Then, he gave me my license, insurance back and then they left. I didn't receive any physical documentation of any kind.

Congrats !!! You didn't get the tic LOL !! Only photo radar comes in the mail.
I'm sure our LE friends will chime in, but pretty sure you beat the rap (this time). Remember to check that RV mirror from time to time.....

You didn't get a ticket but even the speeding ticket from a year ago still shows on your record so remember to mention it next time...lol if there is a next time. Tickets stay on your record for 3 years just to let you know.

Based on what I have read, I think that it's safe to say that . . . The police officer's intent was simply to put a scare into you, which he probably did. Now, were you actually speeding, Jason? It's okay . . . We won't tell.

Tickets stay on your record for three years, like already stated, but accidents stay on your record for seven years. That's about all I care to remember from my days of working for a car insurance company. God, I hated that job with a passion.

Sorry...just drifting in and out of the past...

Haha Andy,

I was following this car in front of me going 20 MPH. Then it let me pass and I went up to a little over 30.

Well, it seemed like I got one. I thought that maybe they could mail it to me or something.

If you didn't sign a 'written promise to appear', then, no, you did not get a ticket.
