Yes absolutg the O rings are cheap and yes so am I , I have a friend doing my oil change due to the farce I went through when they stirpped my oil APS oil pan so I am more careful from now on.

johnsonhuang- royal purple came out the worst from the tests done so I decided to stay away from it, I will see if I can copy and paste the thread from my350z. A normal oil change for full synthetic costs aroung 65-70 so your quote was inline with the norm.

Redline and the oil filter costs around 65 and then on top of that would be the labor for the oil change unless you do it yourself.

I believe there is a great deal on PP now through the end of April at Advance Auto Parts, or so I read on BITOG. Rotella, just have to shop around. I think WallyWorld has it as well as auto parts stores.

I generally buy a bunch when I find a good deal. Found 12 qts of GC the other day at Autozone and bought all of them. Doesn't spoil.

Just looked. It's buy one get one free on the PP through April 28.

Don't use Mobile 1 anymore. Much better oil avaliable.

mobil 1 is NOT, i repeat, NOT a full synthetic.

Im having trouble finding Castrol Synthetic 0w-30. Some Autozones say they wont be getting anymore shipments of them anymore... indefinitely!!
There was a member who posted a link to get it online, but at $8.xx/quart

So is going Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 still okay? Seems to be much easier to find

I'm using the Amsoil Nano oil filter and Amsoil oil. Stuff is awesome and lasts ridiculously long. There is a local member which gets this stuff at dealer rates and hooks us up at those rates.

I would be interested in getting some just to try. How many miles do you go before you do an oil change? Any change in your mpg or performance?

The main reason that I'm sticking with Amsoil is plain and simple...my car used to ping like many others. After switching to amsoil, I don't hear the ping any more. It runs way smootherand as far as gas mileage. It may have helped for an 2 miles or so. It's hard for me to measure accurately since I drive different environments constantly, but it did make a little difference. I am also running it for about 10K on every oil change. I check it periodicly to make sure its visibly clean and even after 10k, its pretty clean, way cleaner and clearer than that penzoil crap they put in at the shops. I think their oil filter has a lot to do with this. Some people run it as long as 15k+, which is fine too, as long as you have your oil analyzed by a lab like Blackstone to make sure its in good shape, plus the lab will be able to tell you how your engine is wearing. Don't get me wrong, there are many choices that will work I use penzoil in my moms civic sedan since she drives like an older lady and religously changes her oil every 3k. I run mobil1 in my RDX (Factory required) and motorcycle, you have many choices, Mobil one is still much better than standard penzoil,,,,,,,and Amsoil and a few others are way better. For a car like the G, it should have come specd for synthetic just like my RDX did..has a big sign on the oil cap..Mobile1 only, or equivelant. Higher performance engines and people with heavy feet, should be using better oils.
