I'm not sure about that $50 Amsoil oil change. I get their stuff at wholesale cost and for an oil change for a g35 (5qts of Series 2000 0w30 oil) and an Amsoil nonofiber filter, the total (tax and shipping included) is $62.66 ...Originally Posted by abcdang

attached is an image from the store window..
I change the washer every time, more for peace of mind.
As for the filter I use oem nissan ones. If they are good enough for Forged Performance and their 600+whp monsters they are good enough for my stock block TT.

I would like 5qts of Series 2000 0w30 oil and an Amsoil nonofiber filter. How many miles do you go on before you change the oil with that setup?Originally Posted by bythabay

Oil change intervals depend on a lot of factors. The best way for you to be able to determine your oil change interval is to run an oil a certain safe amount of time and then have it analyzed. The used oil analysis will determine if the oil is good for continued use.Originally Posted by erdog

The nice thing about the EA filter line is that they're specified for long use intervals. It says on the box "Guaranteed for 25k miles or 1yr" and the results I've seen posted on bobistheoilguy seem to indicate that these filters are the highest quality you can buy. The schedule I'm currently using is an oil change every 7500 (along with tire rotation) and a filter change every 15k (to keep consistent with the general service schedule).
Just a note: if you have been running non-synthetic oil and you have over 20k miles, it is recommended to dissolve the waxes/deposits that have been left behind in your engine by non-synthetic oils. My preference is one treatment cycle of auto-rx.

My oil changes (as well as the previous owner) have always been synthetics so I should be fine.

i just had my oil changed at "the-shop" in san bruno.
they specialize in nissans and rotaries. the owner's license plate is VQ30DET, so he is an old school VQ fan. For the $50 synthetic oil change, you get an OEM nissan filter and any amsoil synthetic except the 0-30 or 5-40. Those are an extra $2 a quart. they can get ea oil filters for more money, but i didn't ask how much. i brought my own pureone and they took $6 off.
The changed my diff oil with amsoil for $35.
they are very quick and friendly. if you do stop by tell them alex with the ivory pearl g35 sedan sent you
