trooper tagged me on highway 99 in modesto for 82 in a 65 and my fine was $200. This was of course stanislaus county so it may vary by county...

 

got written up for doing 98mph in a 65mph zone (I-880). $364 before I went to court. Asked to take traffic school (essentially pleading guilty) so the judge reduced it down to $150 and then traffic school (lvl 2) was around $50. saved $160 by going to court! actually, I'm not exactly how it works but I think the judge actually waived the original ticket amount and the $150 was actually court fees. Maybe g35chippie can clarify...

 

I was going 105+ and he caught me at 96 in a 65 in alameda county 92E by the toll plaza...my fine was $400.00 not eligible for traffic school unfortunately...it was my first ticket in over 10 years...that damn m3 why'd i have to go showing off....
