On a serious note, I have been shooting/hunting for some 30 years. Firearms are not to be taken likely. Even when empty, I handle all firearms as if they are loaded.

That's what I have at the moment an XD-9 (9mm). Gotta learn to shoot properly first though. Now it's only for plinking. As far as action shooting goes, I was under the impression that larger caliber rounds gave you a greater chance of earning points by hitting the lines of a target that a smaller round would have missed.

That's one of the main reasons I purchased the XD for - external visible and tangible loaded chamber and cocking-status indicators. Otherwise, it functions like a Glock.

That being said, I also wish it had a USP-style "just in case" decocker and active safety. Well, I guess that's what my next firearm is going to be
