i just realized that most of our cars come with like a little piece of clear bra type plastic covering near the rear tire. Im guessing after the repaint, that will be gone huh? Now only one side will have that piece...waaaack!!

Going to goto the serramonte auto body just to check out their work, then will probably head to international body as a few members on this forum have seem to gone. I want make dead sure they dont say that their going to paint the entire side but end up only painting the keyed strip...
Don't bother with serramonte autobody......just trust me on this one.

I just went through this last month...my car got keyed 2x within a 3 month span in Boston. I paid $500 and my insurance covered the cost for my whole car to get repainted.
+1. Why do people pay their insurance premiums if they refuse to use it??? Call your insurance co. and get it fixed.

go for it man! I think our cars got keyed the same weekend on the same side. I also have a 05 Black G coupe 6mt and just dropped it off this morning at Image Autobody. Like everyone said, use that insurance, situations like this is the reason you pay for it! Hope everything works out

Was it the quality of the work or the experience? Was it both? The reason I ask is because one of my customers works there and he does flawless work for us. I can't say the same for the rest of the shop because I don't know everyone else's work. I know the manager and owner are both ******, but I have been more than happy with the results on work performed for our store.

Cool, i'll ask chad at riverside infiniti if he has some. he always gets me parts for cheap. Well i'll be checking out franklin auto body this wkend. ts in oak on international, i think they hae a sf branch too, not too sure. But heard they do high end cars...so we'll c.

sfgr415: Can you recommend your guy to me? i want to check it out.

yeah ive read mixed reviews for serramonte auto. Although they do guarantee their work, i would much rather have it done once instead of them repainting it again and again. Im sure if the color doesnt quite match and they need to repaint again, there is no way i would think auto body shops would strip all the new paint off and start over. Im sure many of them wuld just paint over it and see how it goes...so one and done, is what i prefer.

It was all of the above! I still have to take it to them to repair what they didn't take care of. Heres a list of my issues with them.
1. 16k repair job, I was told I will have it done in about 2 weeks. It took well over a month.
2. Quality of work... I rejected the repair job 2 times,(color match was way, off, and my splash guard had a 1/2' gap in one section. never did alignment even though they said they did and they got paint all over the bottom of my floor mats, some on my black leather seat and some on my compustar remote and oem key....keep in mind I have an IP coupe. I brought it back to them and they took care of the mats and seat. I ended up buying a new remote case for my Compustar for $10 and scrubbing the key with my fingernails until it came off!
3. Part of the deal was that they would give me my old busted taillamps so I could try modding them later down the road. "Oops, the guys trew 1 of them out". And they also were to cover my brake change which I left the oem pads in my glove box for them. The advisor told me they took care of it. The next day after bringing my car home, I open up my glove box to find that same set still in there. I changed them myself later that month.
4. Issues after the fact..that still need to be adressed by them!
I noticed there is still IP paint on the side of my steering wheel which is only noticable when I curb my wheels to the right. I have a rattle at the headliner
near the passenger side rear seat...they busted a tab there. An the best of all...when I was working on some audio stuff and I had to strip the trunk out, guess what I found......there was a pool of water in there! They didn't seal the rear section properly!

I would say overall, this was the ****!est experience I have ever had with any shop. The worst thing is that I still have to go back to them to honor their "lifetime warranty" for stuff they never took care of to begin with. I had called their manager and he told me that that advisor is no longer with them, but to bring it in and they'll take care of it. Keep in mind that this work was done almost 1 year ago.My biggest concern now is leaving my G there again, it's a pain to keep going back and forth being repeatidly being told that your car is ready when its not. And now again! This thread just really reminded me that I need to go and have these issues once and for all taken care of. I'll keep you guys posted on the outcome.

WHeeWW!....hows that for details!

Wow. That is pretty bad. Everytime I have dealt with them, I have taken them parts (fiberglass trunk pieces, bumpers, etc.) I have not had any issues at all, but your situation is pretty messed up.
