Did they use a heat gun? When Vodka was getting his fenders rolled on his M3, they had a HELL of a time. They couldn't roll with a roller.

But ont he M3forum, others had no problem. I'm just concerned that the outer part will get warped.

They did do it at International but then he got his whole car painted anyways so they really WIDENED it. They even had to bang on it with a hammer according to him. He can fit a 19x11 now with no problems. I only plan on getting 19x10.5 in the rear but I don't want any rubbing. On my G35 I was rubbing in the back occasionally with 19x10.5 +23mm with 275/35/19 SO-3's. I didn't have my fenders rolled.

I plan to drive this car much harder so I want to roll my fenders but I don't want to compromise the exterior line. Even the slightest paint/body imperfections really bother me.

I've heard that International doesn't do a good job on fender rolling also, at least with G's and Z's.

I was getting tint done at Omega and was talking to Vince about fenders; and he mentioned that they also messed up his friend's car, I think it was a Z because he mentioned seeing him at a Z meet. The Z owner ended up taking it to a different body shop to get the paint fixed and the fenders cut.

Disco,

Yes, they definitely used a heat gun. He took a bit more time than usual since this was the first G that he did and that extra time waiting was well worth it.

when i went back to get my car, the guy told me the paint had cracked...i asked if he used a heat gun and he said no...he said it wouldn't have mattered and that it was a crapshoot....what bs!

Every time I've had fenders rolled by International, they warned me that the paint may crack. But, I've had a 4/4 success rate with the cars I've brought in, including my G35. I'm sure they used a heatgun on my M3 as I was watching them do it.
