Car gettin repainted.

Here are just some pics of my car getting repainted at International Autobody. My car got keyed about a month ago and i finally got it in the shop. Johnny has been very cool. Hopefully the end result will be as well.

Of all the body shops i went to, all of them said they would jus sand down the keyed portion and not the whole door and/or panel. Im crossing my fingers that i will not see a line or a noticeable fade.

Why did they sprayed over your protective film on the side by the wheel there???

are they going to replace it?

I was talking to a few of my autobody friends about this exact issue because there are parts on the car I want to paint but not the whole car itself. They both said that with "spot" paint jobs, you can usually see a fade within a year or two.

yeah i think the protective covering will have to be replaced. They probably should have taken that off first. I already pointed that out to johnny before i took my car in, he said they'll just replace it, but i guess i should have reminded them again? ...so we'll see.

The m3 project of course doesnt have the problem of paint matching and fading since everything is a fresh coat of paint.

will keep you guys up to date.

Your car is in great hands, I was at the shop yesterday checking on another project I have them working on, and started staring at your DD kit. I had the D2 on my G35, but damn your Z1 looks amazing!!!

not if they clear coat the entire panel after spot painting.

I'm sure everything will come out good. I plan to use International for my car when I'm ready.

Looks good so far. Its good to see body shops actually paint everything other then just the damaged area. Thats a real paint job
