All though they could have cited many of us, they chose not to. Apparently, they followed a group over the SM Bridge to the Red Robin staging area. After we (mainly Rob) spoke to the officers they realized we meant no harm they went on their way.

machavez(Mike), great pics but you should give credit where credit is due. Your son (Mike Jr.) has a real eye for photography and he's quite good.

PS - I forgot you weren't going all the way to Monterey so I forgot to say "later" in Capitola. I tried calling your cell, but I got a message that said you were not taking calls. Anyway, it was good to see you and little Mike again and we hope to see you again soon.

Later...Eloy

yes cool

[QUOTE=andy2434][QUOTE=g35 chippie]Don't yell at me. I didn't tip off Redwood City CHP and had nothin' to do with Officer M. showing up. He's an academy classmate of mine and a good friend. I'm sure he was professional and treated all of you respect.

g35 chippie,

Officer M. was quite cordial . . . Yes, he acted in a professional manner. Upon arriving at our staging site, Officer M. had ample reasons to cite many of us for various reasons. Yet, he opted not to.

During a discussion at a meal, it dawned on a few of us, as he parked his cruiser, a few of us, myself included, headed towards him. I have to believe that this may or may not have made him a bit uncomfortable. Nonetheless, he conducted himself in a stellar manner.

This was a good encounter with a LEO. We all appreciated the manner in which he handled the situation.
I have to agree that he was cool. I along with others approched him to initiate the conversation. He just wanted to know what our plans were and i asured him we were going to behave ourselfs and had no plans for drifting compitions in the parking lot. He did mention that he could site us but would not. He was very cool but i did about s3!^ my pants when we say that he was calling for back up! Nice encounter and a good guy.
Rob

Yes, there was a CHP with his laser radar a mile before the bridge. He was hidding behind the tree and pointed his radar toward incoming cars. But we spotted him and radio the group to slow down. He must have called other CHP cause when we all crossed the toll bridge, another CHP was waiting on the left side and followed us through the meeting point. Once we knew that he was targetting us, we chatted on the walkie talkie and decided to split from the group. Some went to Target, some went to HomeDepot, etc. But somehow he spotted a group of people and cars at the parking lot and then called backup. When backup arrived, Rob, Michael (from Texas) and others approached the CHPs. The rests were history.

The CHPs were cool though!! Good cops

I knew I'd regret having to miss this meet. It's nice to be able to look at pics and see so many of my G friends having fun. I missed out for sure.

Anyhow, glad everyone had a good time!

Well Shane you cant blame the officer... Being the bad *** tall intimidating muscle bound stud i am ... i can understand his concern, however once i explained that all i wanted to do is give him a big hug....it was all good. Hey I took one for the group... It isnt easy cozing up to L.E.. . Shane I thank you for boosting my image. I always wanted to be a bad ***. I knew if I could'nt smooth things over we would send in our official mascot... BIG FOOT!!!

I hope so too, Andy. I don't know about the NoCal vs SoCal one but I should be at the next major one we have.
