What should I do next?
Best thing to do would be to get on the phone with him, then 3 way the shipping company this way you know that he filed the claim. Also, if the shipping company needs any info, both of you will be able to give answers. After that is done, see what answers you get and if the shipping company does not cover it, try to work things out another way.

If no resolution is possible after allowing a fair time, then take further dispute action. There's also the I-trader rating here too. That's what it's here for.
I know you're upset, but we here really don't need to see your private communication with that vendor.
I-trader ratings are a powerful resource for ppl considering if they should do business with any member or vendor on here.
Good Luck Andy and hope it all works out good for you.

OK, I will give him times to resolve it. Let's hope he will turn this around in a good way. I hate doing this too but he's not helping me instead I am worry that the crack will get bigger.

Instead of wasting your time creating these threads, why not take the time to get an estimate so we can get the hood repaired and end the whole ordeal. Instead, you turn it into this huge mess, when really it was not my fault.
You/your son signed for the hood, by doing so you are accepting the hood and that it's in good condition. The hood was inspected when shipped and should have been inspected at arrival.
If you want me to file a claim with the carrier I will, but if the claim is denied I will not take any responsibility in getting the hood repaired.
I think it is difficult to fault the consumer for not "inspecting" the product before they sign for it from the UPS or whoever delivered it. The vendor/seller should replace the item post haste so it does not come to this point, not this whole mess with filing a claim and it likely not being paid. The vendor should not be trying to deny responsibility if the carrier denies the claim. Stand behind your product if you want to continue selling. It does not take long to get a bad rep. The last post would make me question if I would want to do business with them. Just my two pennies.

Andy, unfortunately when dealing with a REPLICA company, you have to be prepared to deal with less than commonly acceptable quality control standards. As for the vendor, CarbonLTD, the fact that you "will not take any reponsibility in getting the hood repaired" shows us all the ethics by which your company operates. The next time you decide to ship a B-stock item to a customer and try to blame it on the shipping company, think again.

I talked to a few body shops around here and none of them said that it was repairable. They told me to just paint to whole hood.

As you can see from his responses, he kept twisting words around just as in PMs. Will I ever trust this person again? The answer is NO!!!

He has a point about the shipping and responsibilty around that in accepting it. (condition of box at the very least)
That crack, imo, looks to be more than just the clearcoat as he states.
Very well could've been a stress crack in shipping from being dropped. Hence, the condition of the box corner. IDK...not taking sides here, just trying to be objective.
Andy...your PM box is full. Can't send you a PM. Don't see a way to send EM to you either by your profile.
I have some hopefully helpful suggestions for you.
PM me with your EM or something

Since when the carrier will allow you to inspect the item inside the box before you can sign the paper?? In this case, the carrier came to my house and knocked on the door with a receipt on his hand. And when my wife signed it, the carrier asked my son to help him carry the box to the garage.
Go get some estimates so you can have your hood fixed and we can end this.
Please lock up one/two of these thread Andy. It makes it way to confusing to have to reply to all 3 threads.

I live in a small city here. Most body shops I went yesterday told me that they couldn't help with the carbon fiber fix. I will need to go somewhere else in BA to get the estimate. I will keep you inform.
