If parking is a REAL pita, i can possibly lend you a parking pass for the garage around the block, but i think it should be ok since franciscan validates 3 hours parking and after that, its not really that expensive cosndiering what you pay for food =)

Speaking of parking, we were thinking about driving into the city and parking in a garage somewhere then taking the cable cars around as much as possible. Is there somewhere central we can park and do that? I hate having to see one place and then drive and park to see another and repeat 10 times. Any ways to reduce would be very helpful. I know we'll have to drive to twin peaks and the bridge but are some of the other sites closer to each other.

We would like to see China Town, Lombard Crooked Street, Conservatory of Flowers, and the pier (for dinner).

Please forgive my ignorance on the city. I haven't even looked at a map yet. We will have all day there; we plan on being in the city between 9-10am. We're staying in Bodega Bay so the drive will take us a while to get into town.

i work at the Ripley's Museum. wharf parking isn't super bad now days. Its just a little expensive, but all street parking is free after 7pm. definitely park in a garage if your in chinatown. you can circle for 3 hours and never find a spot.
cable cars are 5 dollars a ride per person, or 11, for a full day pass.

I think Chinatown and the pier are the only places you'd have to worry about parking unless you pay for it, and like johnsonhuang stated, it gets expensive...

That's not so bad then. We don't mind paying more for good parking, this is a vacation so I can live with spending $50 on parking for the day. I can't bitch, she is the one that is paying for the FX we are driving!
