LOL . . . Everything is fine, Shane. Just thought that I would mix it up a bit, since I am getting comfortable here on these boards.

Actually, this will prove to a real productive thread for me, as I trust it will be for others, as well.

My family and I have and "ICE" (In Case of Emergency) before each of our names on our cell phones so emergency healthcare givers would know who to contact for us... and my family and I have a "phone tree" and a single contact person outside California to call to check in.
That's awesome. I'm ashamed that I don't have all of these things in place, being a neighborhood emergency response team member.

I got my quad, my helmet and my gloves.

All I need is a shotgun and I'll be good to go.

That's my survival plan.

Just moving out here, what do you all do (if anything) to secure stuff on the wall, like big pictures, shelves, my computer desk, my TV, etc... Does everything need to be anchored into the walls? I don't think my landlord would dig that to much.

We superglue everything on the wall such as wall units, pictures, especially your plasma tv... also, to secure items on the wall units and dressers and stuff, get one of those carpenters glue and that should do the trick.

SUPERGLUE? i hope you are being sarcastic.

carpenter's glue and caulking might make sense... but still best to anchor things to studs.

Those of us in the PNW would be wise to take the advice of more experienced "california quakers" as we are scheduled for one in a big way up north
