http://www.thetech.org/bodyworld/

I went to this exhibit during thanksgiving in San Jose and it's pretty crazy stuff. They have real bodies cut away so you can see internal organs, muscle definition, bone structure, pregnant womb, cancerous tissue, etc etc. They're all posed in different positions to show different aspects of the body.

check it out if you guys have time. They're only in the bay area until end of January or so..

I used to volunteer at The Tech. That place was awesome and actually ended up meeting a lot of cool people there.

That exhibit looks awesome. I may just have to drive down and check it out.

Do you know if they let people draw? I want to draw them like I drew the dead bodies at UCSF's grosslab. Watch them kick me out if I try.

I've seen the process they go through to get those bodies preserved like that. It's a lot of work to say the least.

You know, the things I did at the grosslab, like leaning up against a body in a body bag without realizing, dropping a spleen on the floor than shoving it back into the guys chest cavity, messing around with a foot, and a half a head wasn't bad. What I'll never forget is the damn smell. Holy crap, I couldn't eat meat for a week.

Haha...I hear ya. The more you do it, the easier it gets. I'm telling you though, it's the smell of the chemicals that gets you.

Body World would be fun. I just don't want to drive all the way to SJ to see them.

i went recently and it was very very intriguing. you guys definitely have to check it out. there are student discounts also. it's amazing how they make those bodies pose in their natural form, i.e. a soccer player actually kicking a soccer ball, a skateboarder doing a grab, a ballerina dancing on on her toes. it's freakin' nuts.

plus, they keep all the nerves intact for some of the exhibits and that's just amazing. also, all you smokers, there's a "I QUIT" propaganda over there. Go check out what your lungs would look like? haha
