Beadhead, haha:

keep in mind i have black interior so it makes the tint look darker than it is, if you have a lighter interior (willow or the like) then it will look significantly lighter than this...

rear windshield, haha, never hear it called that

and yes. it would look retarded if you didnt. in fact i challenge you to find ANYONE who didnt when they got tint, any make any year, any model, some even tint their windshields to make the look uniform, but that is both highly illegal and stupid for night driving...

20's all around will give you a challenge seeing though at night, id go 30/20/20 if i had it to do over again.

[QUOTE=LFg35]a good tint job will be b/w $250 and $350 but in CA, it could be more.

Damn it's good to know that someone that lives in southeastern section of
our country can tell you what our cost is on the west coast! First of all
I have 3M tint on my G and it's 35%, the cost was $150. The company name
is California Tint and they have several outlets/stores in our area. The darker
you go with the tint the better chance you'll have of getting a violation. I
have a friend in the CHP and he doesn't think I'll get stopped for my tint.
Another consideration is when you have dark tint it's difficult to see out of
your car at night......Good Luck

5% is limo tint really dark, then it goes lighter like 8/15/20/35 etc.. the higher % the ligher it is, lower % the darker it is.

what kinda car u drive? i noticed u live in burlingame I got all 5 of my windows done for 200 by Vince at omega tint works in Pleasenton (mention u are a forum member and he will give u the discount) he did an awsome job btw. i did 35% all the way around, not to dark to where cops would harass you, and not to light. when i was price calling around san jose the prices were from 275-350. so i drove the 30min away to have them done 75-150 cheaper

How can you guys says 400 for tint is too "expensive" without knowing what brand/kind of film they are using?, if it is Johnson/3M/Suntak HPs? sure its too expensive but not if they are using Hüper Optik, V-Kool or madico...

Evan, the lower percentage of film? the darker it is(less light transmission but not always meant less heat reduction tho), if you tint anything on front door windows? you are taking chance on getting pull over, althought many have not had issue with popo, that doesnt mean you wont, so if you do? please please dont post a thread about it.

click on this link, they have some photo galleries...

I got 5% on my '04 BS Coupe and love it. It is pretty damn dark at night but I love the look and the main purpose, blockin out the glare of the sun. I have sensitive eyes so I got a medical letter for having it that dark. I got mine done by Sam from Mach III. He hooked up a good price and did a damn good job. Tint is 3 yeard old and I never had a problem. Make sure the place you get tint done shaved or bevels the front windows on the edge. I forget what I paid for them but it was no where near $400. That is crazy! Tint on the windshield is rediculous. I saw a Mexican in San Jose years ago with a 20% on this windshield of his stang.

I hate to break it to you but those so call for "medical" purpose tint dont work, it has to be removable cus you cant use glare of sun as excuese at night!, Its funny how you say tint on front windshield is "rediculous" but you need your front window tinted so dark csu you have sensitive eyes, I guess glare of sun is no problem for you if its thru windshield.

Sam has been long gone from MachIII, he opened his own shop in Fremont called Permier, they do mostly clear bar now, call and ask Sam how much he charges for tint now...

I have already shown a judge my letter and he dismissed the ticket. I have also been pulled over twice and have had no problems.

I wear sunglasses when I drive to cut back on the front glare. The side tint does great at cutting out the side glare. I hate to break it to you, but some people actually do have light sensitivity and tint does benefit. Thanks

I wasnt questioning if there are ppl with sensitiveness to sun light might it be eyes or their skins but there is no need for tint protection during the night time so any tint need to be removable...So you did got pull over and receive ticket for tinted window, yes you did got it dismissed by Judge but that doesnt mean it will work for anyone else, if it dose? why would that officer give you a ticket in the first place and can a Judge simpley tell you to get pair of wrap around glass and you need to take the tint off?

At risk of turning me into g35 chippie...

(10) Sun screening devices meeting the requirements of Section 26708.2 installed on the side windows on either side of the vehicle's front seat, if the driver or a passenger in the front seat has in his or her possession a letter or other document signed by a licensed physician and surgeon certifying that the person must be shaded from the sun due to a medical condition, or has in his or her possession a letter or other document signed by a licensed optometrist certifying that the person must be shaded from the sun due to a visual condition. The devices authorized by this paragraph shall not be used during darkness.

I am not advocating that it will work for everyone. I received a ticket prior to my written letter from doctor. I told the officer that my eyes were light sensitive and he then asked for a note or something. At the time I had nothing but I got one and went to court to get the ticket dismissed. It is up to the judge to decide if a note is sufficient. I guess if I had other prior infractions and walked into court looking and acting like an a**hole, then I would not get it dismissed. You can quote anything you like, but it all boils down to what works best for me. Thanks..

I think you should watch who you try to flame on here, noob. First you try flaming on Kris, now Shane. Wrong people to try to make look bad, kid. Watch yourself before you upset a lot of people on these NorCal boards.
